I can state without reservation that my Honda CRV EX-L is the equivalent of a vehicular chameleon. Challenging terrain, hostile weather, or smooth highways, this vehicle moves with confidence and purpose regardless of the scenery. But enough about my new car. Let me say a few words about Route 23 Honda. I would be a great thing if dealerships possessed the quality of the vehicles they sell. Many in the market for a new/used car lament, fear, and even hate the entire car buying/leasing process. Horror stories abound. But Route 23 Honda is doing something very right and very different. From the moment I walked into the dealership, the vibe was relaxed, open and friendly. I was enticed into the dealership after an inquiry I made over the Internet. Their Internet representative, Drew, fully answered my queries and his turn around time with the info I requested was remarkable fast. In the dealership, my husband and I were greeted by our salesperson Eric. After exchanging niceties, we gave Eric our requirements and parameters for a new vehicle. We then took the CRV for a "real-world" test drive. I wanted to know, if needed, could I live life in the fast lane, or alternately, stop on the proverbial dime. Eric was not only accommodating to our challenging trial run, but as we tested the acceleration, brakes, steering and turning radius, he pointed out pertinent facts about each that I was unaware of, and I had thoroughly researched the vehicle beforehand. I was impressed with his knowledge of this vehicle. He highlighted the latest, wiz-bang features that complemented the obvious quality and solidity of the CRV. As we were getting closer to sealing the deal, there was no hard sell or aggressive push. Eric helped create a no-pressure environment and this increased our comfort level along with his open and friendly demeanor. When it came time to put pen to paper and sign the contract, the finance manager, Fred was very helpful. He provided alternative options for us but FIRST listened to our wants, needs and desires. As a result, his solutions were more on target than the typical cookie-cutter solution. He also handled some very tough inquiries without getting perturbed, flustered or nervous that we would have a change of heart. I can't say enough good things about this dealership, and more specifically, the people who helped us during the decision-making process. If you want a great car and a great deal look for a great dealership. But more important than a car with good bones and good tires is a dealership that walks the talk. If you do not enjoy the car buying experience as we don't and the games that dealers play, this is the way to do it. The financing was good and fairly painless, everyone we met with was friendly and helpful. There was no pressure to add dealer options to the car or hidden costs involved. We had shopped at this dealership several time over the years but never bought because the price was not right. This time it was and we are happy with the car and the experience. They even had the car cleaned and ready an hour and a half after we bought it. We were shocked because we did not plan to pick up the car until the following Monday. Overall one of the best car buying experiences we have had. More
