Having been burnt b some other Internet "specials" I asked if the car I saw was there at that price. Having received two affirmative s, I set up an appointment to see the vehicle. After some discussion and a short test drive, I was ready to purchase the car. Two hours later, I was driving home in my new purchase. Very long process After doing research online, we pretty much made up our minds that we wanted a Honda CRV. We went to Route 23 Honda in Pompton Plains with the intenti After doing research online, we pretty much made up our minds that we wanted a Honda CRV. We went to Route 23 Honda in Pompton Plains with the intention to buy one immediately, but first we wanted to compare the different CRV's and Pilots, and find out from the sales person the benefits and differences in each. We were stuck with a rookie salesperson, which is fine, since we were already knowledgeable with the CRV model. We still, however, had some questions, and this is where we figured the salesperson would help. This salesperson had minimal knowledge of the product he was selling. He was little to no help at all with this issue. We actually googled the differences in the CRV models while we were test driving them. This salesperson was more comfortable talking about himself and how cool it was to make his first sale. After deciding to purchase the vehicle, we waited for over three hours in the middle of the showroom at a small table for our paperwork to be finalized. In my experience with other dealerships, this process should not take anywhere near this long. At this point, we chalked it up to the inexperience of the sales person for our delay in paperwork. One bright spot, once the paperwork was finally finished, was the finance guy- Sunny Chan. He obviously knew what he was doing and we were at his desk for only a few minutes. My suggestion is: in the future, this dealership may want to shadow a rookie salesperson to keep an eye on their employee and to answer any questions this salesperson is having trouble with. Also, the length of time must be cut down in the whole process. We were close to walking out. More
