These guys worked with my numbers in a way that made me feel that they were genuinely concerned for me and my situation. My salesman Boubacar was kind and patient (as we had been communicating for about one month). The finance guy Jared didnt waste my time by trying to pressure me into adding unnecessary “perks and protections” to my package. Amazing ability to find nails in tire sidewalls A certain amount of shadiness is to be expected at a dealer service center, and this department is no exception. They use all the basic ploys, for which you should be prepared before you go in. I have numerous instances after 4 years of ownership, but today's example: If you go in for just an oil change and rotation (i.e., less than $100), be ready for the old 'nail in the sidewall' routine. This has happened to me twice now when my estimate was under $100. A nail in the sidewall of the tire means it cant be patched; it must be replaced for about $190. They sure have a keen ability to uncover those nails when your bill is going to be cheap. Thank you, Russell & Smith--if it weren't for your crack team of technicians, half the Honda drivers in Houston might be driving around with deadly nails in their sidewalls! As I was checking out, I heard the service advisor next to mine tell his customer that he also had a nail on his sidewall!! Amazing... Its always a drag going in for service here because you know they're going to try to drive the cost up however they can. That said, the quality of work is acceptable; They tend to do things correctly and as promised. Keep in mind that the service advisors are under heavy pressure to drive up repair costs--It's the management that sets this policy. More
