Skeptical I took my diesel truck in due to a check engine light. Truck seemed to be running fine. EGR valve was the code reading. I was told that diagnosis would be $140 which would apply to repair if done or free if under warranty. Diagnosis was not EGR but that K & N air filter needed cleaning and that my mass air flow sensor needed to be replaced and a regeneration run. Not under warranty. I was given a price of $800. I balked at the cost. I was told that they would see what they could do. Came back with $588. I decided to have the service done since I would have had to pay $140 anyway. I am not convinced that the mass air was bad since the truck seemed to be running ok. Time will tell. Ken Ashby, the service advisor was very friendly and worked me in without an appointment and did get the price down but I still feel that I may have been taken advantage of because I felt that the truck was running well. More

My warranty company would not authorize the use of Sands for my repairs and told me that that they had a large and serious strike against them in the case of another customer whose warranty was seriously overcharged with highly questionable repairs. I picked up my vehicle and paid them $115 for the diagnosis of "failed compressor." I took my vehicle to Autonation where they determined the compressor had not failed and made the correct repairs. I contacted Sands' Service Manager Steve Bullock and told him that under the circumstances I felt I was owed the $115 as their assessment was incorrect. I provided the copies of service performed by email, Twice, and even forwarded the email from Autonation. Mr. Bullock told me he was out of town until the 22nd of July and would get back to me. It is now the 29th. I will proceed with reviewing this dealership on line. Apparently my warranty company was very accurate about them and I am very glad they were looking out for me. More
Ken is GREAT! I used to see Matt as my service advisor, but he left. I called in for service and happened to speak with Ken. He is helpful, informs me of what my vehicle requires and, this last time, gave me a heads up that my tires are going to need to be replaced soon. Gives me time to put some extra money away so I can get a new set next time I go in. More

Received call trying to sell me more stuff, just another $350 in expenses.... that can wait till next oil change, with exception of alignment which will be done where I just had tires installed. At 3:00 (3 hour oil change) I was told it was ready, went to pick up truck and found it had not been washed (I thought that always happened?) but maybe because I didn't spend the extra? I wish the mechanic or lot person would put the mirror and seat back or NOT change it. More
