I felt like the sales person's main objective was to make my experience a great one. I was shown several vehicles in my price range and did not feel at all pressured. This was different than experiences I have had in the past. Very low stress level experience. I drove away with a great car and deal. More

We went onto AutoTrader and found a nice used vehicle that would work for our family. Our family needed a vehicle with a third row and our preference was a mid-sized crossover (we already have a minivan and I want something good with gas for my commute). So we went to Sands with vehicle in mind. We went inside and asked the sales person about the vehicle, he acted confused and said he didn't even know about the vehicle but looked it up on the computer and saw it was there. He went back to get the keys so we could test drive and when he came out he said he wasn't sure that this was the right vehicle for us (mind you he hasn't even seen this car yet, supposedly) but rather he wanted to put us into a mercury mountaineer. We test drove both vehicles. He told us because they were both new trade ins and that they would need to be inspected but whichever one we wanted would go in that evening and that if one didn't pass their inspection we could have the other. We thought about it for a little and decided that the Subaru was what we were going to go with so we let him know. He told us that the Mountaineer was going to go in to the shop today but the Subaru would be inspect first thing tomorrow morning. Really? You have someone interested in a vehicle and you don't adjust the schedule to get that one in first like you said you would (plus it was only 2pm)? Whatever, so we went home and got the phone call the next morning the Subaru passed with flying colors. We went back in and started filling paperwork for financing, got it all done and waited...and waited...and waited. Such is life with auto-financing through the dealership, I get it. The finance guy comes out and says that because the car is so old (it was a 2006) we couldn't get a loan for it but that he had bunch of sedans he could get us financing for. Sure the price would be much higher but we could extend the financing term and our monthly payment would be the same as with this older more affordable Subaru. We said no thanks and left. So they made us take two trips out to their dealership to get invested with them. They advertised a vehicle on a website then all of the sudden when we got in their that vehicle wasn't available for financing but they had more expensive cars they could finance for us. No mention of the other car (the mountaineer) that we thought was in our budget. They saw our credit would allows us to spend more so they were going to wait us out. No thanks, I'll pass on the bait-and-switch. We went to a competitor and bought a vehicle that we wanted right after we left. Fast forward to today, we just got a letter from their finance department stating that they refused to give us a loan because of the our credit. Which is it Sands? Can I afford a more expensive car or is my credit so bad that you won't finance us? Your competitor gladly took our money. Or did you send that letter because of the pressure you got from my review on social media? My advice if you are looking for a vehicle (and I will advise anyone I ever hear talking about purchasing a vehicle) stay away from Sands, you can do without the bait-and-switch tactics and the mess of a finance dept. Plus I wouldn't trust a service dept that said a vehicle passed their inspection with flying colors was obviously in such "bad shape and so old" it couldn't get financing. Go down the road, there are better places. More

He showed me several different trucks, we took a few out for test drives and then when I decided on the truck it was very easy to work out a deal that I am very happy with. I would recommend these guys to my friends and family. I had a GREAT car buying experience here! Thank you Marty! More

I said to my husband, are you ready for this? James approached us and said "Let's go have some fun...what are you looking at?" There was no turning back from there. Because of James McBrearty, I see buying a new car in a whole new light! Please ask for James when you go into Sands Quakertown. He will go to bat for you and takes all the punches the manager & finance guys throw out there. More

I am glad I was able to take the vehicle to a personal mechanic as he found a few items that were marked as "certified" on the checklist provided - this included unacceptable damage to a safety item. Granted this item was replaced without question, what if I had relied only on the certification? I did get a great price for my trade-in. I was annoyed that the dealership policy is to only accept $500 on credit card and the rest had to be paid by cashier's check. I understand the credit card issue (although it is still more convenient for the customer) but to add another step (offsite) and expense to get the cashier's check is rather inconvenient to the customer. I own seven vehicles at present and have bought and sold dozens but have never encountered this before, not even with the several high-end vehicles I own (Ferraris, BMWs, Audi, Porsche). The sales interaction and the deal make me want to come back in the future but the nuisances do not. More
