Christine Bakken listen to and paid attention to our wishes, budget and concerns. She discussed several options and answered all of our questions. She was familiar with all the models and trims. If she did not know an answer she took the time to research it and give us correct information. She made sure when we picked up the car that we understood the "bells and whistles. She has followed up several times since we picked up the car to be sure everything was ok. Peter and Alex in the Finance Department explained details including the pros and cons of financing through VW credit without pressure to do so. More

I live in Kansas, but located a 2009 VW SEL Sportwagen online at Schmelz Countryside VW. I was immediately contacted by Christine Bakken, a sales consultant, once I expressed an interest. Christine answered all the questions I had in regard to the vehicle and even texted additional pics of the vehicle to me. Never having bought a vehicle unseen and at such great distance., Christine did a fantastic job explaining all my transport options. Once I had reached the determination that I would buy the car, Christine worked with me to make sure all necessary docs were in place for me to pick up the car. I flew up to Minneapolis and Christine even picked me up at the airport. All I can say is that when this dealership describes a car as clean - they mean it. Premised on my experience I would not hesitate to work with this dealership and Christine whether I was in the market for a new or used vehicle - highly recommend! More

Terrible Business Practice They gave me a rental car to help with my inconvenience they had caused for the car I bought from them less than a year that is pre-owned certified th They gave me a rental car to help with my inconvenience they had caused for the car I bought from them less than a year that is pre-owned certified that had to be in the shop 3 times in one month. I had the rental car for about 3 hours. Travel expense of $3.70 worth in gas, returned the car as I received it, great condition. Ask for service representative to check the vehicle over, declining my offer saying nope good to go! Then to find out that the car mysteriously has a large crack through the center of the windshield - 2.5 days after I returned it and I am at fault to cover the charges. The car was in my possession for approximately 3 hours, the dealership had possession of the vehicle for 2.5 days. Car was not immediately checked over and sat on the lot for over two days, anything can happen during this time period. Now, if it was my fault I would be more than happy to cover the accident/charges but when you know that the car was not in the condition when you left it is another thing. Of course they rented/arranged through a 3rd party, therefore I had two employees in the service department state "..sorry not our problem, it's yours.." Fast forward a couple days: Their business practice is atrocious. I discussed the situation with the owner of the dealership and I was told that I was wasting a lot of energy into something so little and that it's a simple claim or charge to my credit card. Clearly that is not the point; it's the principle, its the fact that I did not cause the damage. My question is, if it is so simple then why don't they eat the cost? More
