Scheduled 75K preventative maintenance I am a long-time Secor customer who has generally been very happy with their sales and service. Since my last visit in March 2018, the service center I am a long-time Secor customer who has generally been very happy with their sales and service. Since my last visit in March 2018, the service center renovation was completed and I noted changes in personnel and work flows. Signs instructed customers to use a new service lane. Since another car was parked in the service lane under the breezeway, I pulled in behind it. When I reached the sign-in window inside the office, I was told that I shouldn't park in the service lane as that blocks traffic. The employee who handled my check-in was efficient to the point of being a bit brusque when I commented on new procedures like her "walk-around" inspection. The routine service took twice as long as had been estimated (2 h vs 1 hr) and no apology or explanation was offered when my car was ready -- this is the reason for a 4 rating instead of 5. There were several new faces; I was disappointed to learn that many of the staff I had come to know over the years were no longer at Secor. While the new staff were courteous, they seemed more impersonal. I did recognize Jay, who checked me out. He gave me a point-by-point review of the service results before processing my payment. In summary, it is perhaps not surprising that the "vibe" in the Service Dept has changed with the staffing changes and physical renovations. Secor still has free coffee and donuts and good WiFi in the waiting area (important to me since I work on my laptop while waiting), and my car still received a complimentary wash (exterior). More

Replaced wrong part. Drivers side front seat was frayed. Was told by Secor and others that it could not be repaired due to proximity of air bag. Estimated parts at about $250 and installation about the same in "an hour or two." Purchased parts at $278.99. Made appointment for 7/17/18 at 8:30 am to install. Installation took almost five hours. Paid $492.93. Upon opening driver's side door noticed that seat back was still frayed exactly as it was. Request full refund or complete installation as agreed. More

I have always been wary of service departments of other dealers that seem to come up with mystery problems requiring hundreds of dollars to fix. But during the four plus years I have been servicing my Forester at Secor Subaru, I have consistently been treated with the respect and honesty you would hope to get everywhere. So I knew I could leave the car and whatever they diagnosed would be an honestly needed repair. What a pleasure to be given the car back the next day and be told that there was no charge and only a small part was replaced. Having a service department that you can trust to do only what you really need at a fair cost takes the stress out of car maintenance. More
