Our truck was running funny, so we called up the service center at Sheboygan Chevrolet and were able to get in the same day. So far, so good. The truck was diagnosed and came back with an expensive repair. More

Sheboygan Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac responded

Andi, Thanks for the constructive criticism. I have reviewed this case with the service manager and our general manager. Since this is a long review I will respond in the order that your concerns showed up in the review. When the repairs are done at our service center we do not charge our clients with the core charge that you were referring to on the injectors. No clients of ours have ever been charged for it. Your friend, the GM master technician, would indeed tell you that giving the symptoms your truck was having that the injectors were indeed the most likely cause for the problem. I do not know what the actual problem was since we never had the truck to do the actual repairs. As you say in your review your friend did not have the tools necessary to diagnose or fix the problem correctly. "Since our friend does not have the equipment for a big diesel truck like ours" So much of fixing newer vehicles is not about know how, but about having the right computers and diagnostic tools to fix it. I'm sure your friend would agree to that. As in all things in life you get what you pay for. It seems like you are having a problem with believing the fact that had you had done the service work at our dealership we would not have covered the work if we did not fix the problem. Sir we are a family dealership and I have my father, three uncles, two cousins, and of course my wonderful mother who are involved in the dealership and work full time. The reason I bring this up is we are very visible in the community, giving tens of thousands of dollars to local charities and various organizations that are in need, and since Sheboygan is a small city we know or are known by nearly everyone. We do things for our customers and clients because we believe they are the right things to do, not just because we want more business. You see, my clients and customers are my friends and family if not in last name. If you take the time to visit sheboyganauto.com and look at our testimonial page you would find that we do indeed do just that (pay for repairs) in the rare event that we do not find or misdiagnose a problem. We are widely regarded as one of the best sales and service dealerships as rated by our customers in the nation for GM and we did not get that way by breaking promises or by being wrong the majority of the time. We employ over 130 full time employees at our dealerships and have less than a 2% turnover. This should tell you that our technicians have been in the business for many years, most over fifteen. The only techs we have had quit have quit because one won the lottery and decided to do farming full time and one decided to start his own auto body business. Otherwise the techs that get hired here stay here and they are our most valuable resource. They stay with us because they are like family and believe in our dealership and our way of taking care of our customers. GM requires us to have 100% training in all areas in service. Our shop routinely does 400% or better because we require all techs to go through all training not just the minimum even though it requires a lot more money. We would rather have our customers get the best then charge them the best and just get average. The technician that diagnosed your vehicle was also a GM master technician and has been with us since 1984. He is an amazing technician and is one of the few in the nation that is qualified to work on such vehicles as the Cadillac XLR and the Chevy Volt. Your friend, if he thought our diagnosis sounded wrong before he started fixing it, I would think he would tell you to check it out elsewhere as all good friends do. I doubt that he would just start fixing something without at first finding out what the problem was, as all GM master technicians and good friends do. In summation we stand by what we have done and would hope that you would understand that you can't get displeased at a surgeon that didn't perform a surgery on you that didn't fix your problem ,but that gave you advice. We would hope you wouldn't get mad at a lawyer for giving you advice about a case he didn't have the opportunity to represent you in. We would hope that you would not stop doing business with a general contractor that gave you a quote, then you didn't have your home built with him, but came back to him and complained because the home was not built right by another general contractor. We strive to exceed even the highest expectations of our clients all the time and if in this diagnosis we were wrong we sincerely apologize, but we never had the opportunity to work on your vehicle to prove ourself right. I hope we have the opportunity to earn your business back in the future, but just know we will still be here serving the majority of Sheboygan county and beyond with excellent service and sales not only now but for many years in the future because of the way we honorably and dutifully do business. I apologize about the length of time between when you posted and our response. This was just brought to my attention recently. Regards, Jared Romanoski
