Jerson Saves This Review. To whom it may concern: I leased my car on August 2016 with the idea to do a lease buyout at the end. I was advised by Howard, that this would be a To whom it may concern: I leased my car on August 2016 with the idea to do a lease buyout at the end. I was advised by Howard, that this would be a great deal for me since at the time I was driving back and forth to the city. After driving my car for a while , I recommended my family to purchase a couple of cars there. In 2018 and 2019, I continued my services with Jerson. He was very informative, patient, and wanted the best deals for me. After long hours and a ton of information about if I wanted to do another lease or not, I decided to buy the car out. Towards the end of my lease, I stumbled on a couple of problems. I was told by two managers from Smithtown the incorrect date to return my car. After much stress and confrontation, they “were” able to work with the return buyout price of my car which happen to be higher than what my contracted stated. I mean dealerships always win right? The Buyout process was easy. I didn’t get my retail value of my car which was 200 dollars more. The manager said that Volkswagen charges 500 dollars for buyout and that Smithtown Volkswagen would not charge me that. The manager Mike got me a “good” price for a guarantee however didn’t explain what the guarantee covered just said 24 months , 24,000 for 1,5 K. I don’t know how good it was but I didn’t wanted this in the first place because I would probably have to pay in order to use this service. Now that I have my car, I wish that I didn’t do the lease buyout program or deal, would of rather starting paying it off. The dealership is okay, only a few approachable people. The manager Tom, is hot and cold. He was very pleasant towards the end of this experience but can be very arrogant and forceful. This was a very stressful experience to do my buyout and wished Smithtown Volkswagen would of done extra for me, since I gave them customers and speak highly of the car. But I just no deals and no help. This dealership thrives because of people who are genuine and honest like Jerson. I know this a dealership and people need to sell cars and “good deals” but let’s be more informative and accurate with information. Volkswagen Credit and Smithtown Volkswagen had different information, how is that possible? The reason for these 5 stars is not because of how well and how great this Volkswagen company is but because people who are genuine and honest .
