Untrustworthy Service Department 2015 Passat wont start. Mechanic states 7 codes 3 related to timing chain. Sales manager suggests car not worth repairing, buy another. Upon meeting w 2015 Passat wont start. Mechanic states 7 codes 3 related to timing chain. Sales manager suggests car not worth repairing, buy another. Upon meeting with sales and service, no one would provide the codes based on the diagnostic tests. I was not afforded the opportunity to make an educated decision to repair the car or just roll into another buy or lease. After insisting on the results of the diagnostics, it was determined they never diagnosed the vehicle after having vehicle for 6 days. Tom Baldassare (GM) insisted car was not worth repairing and Michael DiMaria, became belligerent when pressed for the diagnostic results. The owner happened to be in the office this day and was not sure if Tom Baldassare had oversight in regards to sales, service, or both. He encouraged the handing off of the customer to employees who could not commit to customer service. Tom Baldassare states he was too busy to mitigate complaint, Tom in service provided me 8 minutes to detail issue as they had to leave and Mike DiMaria was confused after an hour of trying to figure out his role. Had car returned home and another dealership better capable of providing service and repair was contacted. More

Our salesman, Howard, went above and beyond to find us the car we wanted at the price we hoped to pay. On the day we picked up our new Tiguan, Howard went over every feature our new vehicle had, made sure we knew how to use them all, and even helped us hook up our phone to the CarPlay feature (which took extra time since we didn't have Siri activated on the cell!) By the time we'd finished our "tour," Ivy was ready with the paperwork to be signed and filed. I don't think we've ever had a faster, more pleasant experience when acquiring a new car. We'll continue to use and recommend Smithtown VW whenever we're in the car market! More

" The Best ". Bob Ribaudo was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and even had a great sense of humor. He was a no pressure salesman that wanted to help you rather than just sell a car. When I had consummated the deal on Thursday afternoon, Bob had told me that I could not pick up the new car until the next day at 6 PM. I was unhappy with that time and Bob explained that the Business manager, Ivy was off on Thursday and was booked solidly for Friday, hence the 6 pm time. The next morning Bob called to say that Ivy had agreed to come in earlier than her scheduled hours to accommodate me, and I was able to get in @ 11 am, which helped my schedule greatly. My thanks to Bob and Ivey for going the extra distance to make a happy customer. More
