I purchased my car directly from the owner, Kevin Flanagan. Kevin was very helpful and always available throughout the buying process. I felt comfortable relying on him. Most importantly, I feel like the member of a new community. That's one of the obvious benefits of dealing with a family-owned company, like Smythe. Doug MacAdam, my service adviser, has been instrumental in this process. He is very knowledgeable and professional. He has also been working with my family for years. Service with No Surprises, No Hassles Doug MacAdam and his team really goes the extra mile. I have stayed with Smythe for service of my older Volvo (w/ 135K miles!) even though I could sa Doug MacAdam and his team really goes the extra mile. I have stayed with Smythe for service of my older Volvo (w/ 135K miles!) even though I could save $$ going to an independent mechanic. The reason why I stay is the great customer service Doug provides. He also just saved me a trip in - my Check Engine Light went on, and he went through a list of items that could have caused it. And bingo, one of them was a loose gas cap...how easy of a fix that was...and I didn't have to bring my car into the shop. Doug always calls me back in a prompt manner to answer questions/concerns like this; hence why I continue to use Smythe for service. Hopefully soon I'll be able to trade-in my 7 year old Volvo for a new one...I'll be sure to get it serviced at Smythe...even if I don't buy it there! Thanks Doug! More

However, they were very friendly and apologetic, and once things settled down, they fixed my car and ended up covering things under warranty that were borderline and I was very happy about that. Great service from Doug & Team I'll admit it. I'm picky, a bit of a perfectionist. I care about my car, and I won't allow just anyone to work on it. Family owned Smythe Volvo h I'll admit it. When I needed a new AC compressor for my 2000 V70, my service advisor Doug MacAdam checked to see if they had the part in stock (computer said no), so then he thought to physically check inventory anyway, just in case ( very impressive extra initiative Doug, much appreciated). Their actions reveal they value your time. He ordered the part on an expedited basis (no extra charge) and had it shipped over the weekend. Today (Monday) on check-in I shared I had an important client meeting I hoped not to miss. This late curve ball by me was no problem, as Doug located a loaner for me and I was able to avoid having to reschedule my important meeting. They emailed me when it was done (on time!). I just picked up my car and Brian (master mechanic/tech extraordinaire/uber brainiac) went above and beyond by addressing an awful door hinge squeak that has been driving us crazy. I'm pulling hair out over it, and I can't afford to do that.... I appreciate the high level of service given by Doug, and my wonderful Tech Brian. Good people. Honest, hardworking, attentive, proactive, purposeful - they add value to my life and I appreciate that. No aftermarket cheap nonsense parts here obviously, the real deal OEM is what I want on the car - parts that were designed to give the most benefit, longevity, and reliability. I've never had a car breakdown and I intend to keep it that way. I value my wife & I value having a reliably maintained vehicle. The AC is ice cold, just in time for summer.
