If I could give a MINUS any number, I would! Picked up car yesterday and now problems again! The Vehicle is a used 2013 X3, which I have had for 5 months from Nash auto in Costa Mesa. Two weeks Picked up car yesterday and now problems again! The Vehicle is a used 2013 X3, which I have had for 5 months from Nash auto in Costa Mesa. Two weeks ago, I was on the freeway and info on the screen stated issues with the oil pump. I continued to drive and then a message flashed on the screen stating ' DRIVE TRAIN MALFUNCTION. DRIVE MODERATELY.' A few seconds later the car screen indicated the car would shut down in approximately 30 seconds! I had to quickly, and dangerously, exit the freeway. As I approached the end of the offramp, the car shut down. No movement of steering wheel nor any wheels. I was unable to start the car! I had to tow it to McKenna BMW of South Bay and the car remained for two weeks. I had to pay a lot of money for repairs and retrieved the vehicle on 4/16/22. That evening the warning regarding DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION again appeared. On 4/17/22, the same warning remained and now the engine light is on. I called the South Bay BMW dealership (Sunday) and was informed that no one was available from the repair /Service area and I would need to wait until tomorrow. The car is still not safe to drive but yet I need to drive due to my work schedules and locations! There is no excuse for this issue to reoccur just one day after repairs! The sales person COULD have called someone/supervisor and asked for guidance, yet I was informed " I only work in sales". I am not one who "name drops", but if this issue is not rectified tomorrow, I will be happy to name all involved. After this incident, I do not trust this dealership and I definitely do not trust BMW cars!! Stay tuned!! More
My rating is for the service department, specifically the technician working on my car. My actual service advisor is the best. He restored my trust in South Bay BMW prior to this situation. My car recently w technician working on my car. My actual service advisor is the best. He restored my trust in South Bay BMW prior to this situation. My car recently went in for a warranty repair and during the visit, my car notified me of a incident. Although someone unplugged my dash cameras, they still record if someone hits the car, triggers the alarm etc. Once I was able to download the video, I watched the technician open my hood and allowed it to hit the car above where it rested until he was done filling the washer fluid. I was furious. I checked my car for damage and noticed dirt/oil from the tires. No they didn't wash the car upon returning it to me. I take very good care of my vehicles. When it's in someone else's hands, I would hope they would respect my property as I respect their loaner cars when I'm allowed one. I posted screen shots of the video as I'm unable to upload it. I'm extremely upset with this recent event and hope SBBMW train their employees to better care for others property. Had the tables been turned, I would be on the hook for damage to a loaner. My camera recorded 5 incidents of either hard braking or something bumping into the car. I'm extremely unhappy. More
I must say this is probably the worst BWM experience that I have had to date. The bar was already pretty low working with these dealerships. There is no transparency here. The experience feels like they a I have had to date. The bar was already pretty low working with these dealerships. There is no transparency here. The experience feels like they are just hustling cars. Don't bother asking how they arrived at the price because as my sales person said, we are not able to share that. We were like its taxes and fees you should be able to give us completely visibility to what we are paying for -- can't be done at this dealership. Drive off increased to over $1000 because he said he made a mistake and then couldn't explain the mistake or the increase. Management needs to get from behind the glass door and step out to the sales floor and start engaging customers. Provide a more transparent transaction and MAYBE people will want to do business with you. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone and now I understand why they have received such horrible reviews. We have taken our business elsewhere. Good luck! More
We could not have had a better experience in buying our BMW X5. Reggie was friendly and professional. He allowed us an extensive test drive through the hills of PV so we could test how this vehicle handled BMW X5. Reggie was friendly and professional. He allowed us an extensive test drive through the hills of PV so we could test how this vehicle handled the hills and winding roads. George in the finance department was a wiz on the computer and saved us both money and time. We would definitely recommend Reggie and George for anyone who wants a positive car buying experience. I recently had a horrific experience with South Bay BMW customer service .... I was returning a loaner car (also after being told after almost 100k miles my X5- which is under warranty until 100k miles - s customer service .... I was returning a loaner car (also after being told after almost 100k miles my X5- which is under warranty until 100k miles - still didn't need new brakes - which would be covered under warranty-- I highly doubt I don't need new brakes after driving 100k miles- and think BMW just doesn't want to replace them under warranty) However when I was returning a loaner car- I waited initially 90 minutes to actually even get the loaner car- but had been warned about long wait ahead of time... when I went to return loaner car... they told me "your car will be right out"... and I waited ..., and waited .... And waited .... And asked the valet attendant several times- please tell me if my car is coming out next? If not I'll take an Uber and pick up my son and come back.... My young son was waiting outside a swim lesson for me and I had no way to communicate with him.... I told valet attendant this multiple times and she kept just looking at me Blankly and insisting my car would "be right out". This was OBVIOUSLY NOT TRUE and I ended up waiting almost 45 minutes for my car to be pulled up.... Which is absolutely unnecessary and unacceptable... but I was mainly upset about my son waiting alone ... and if the valet girl had been up front and honest about the time frame it could have been handled appropriately. The only reason my car was brought out in 45 min was I had to ask my service advisor to get it. I was extremely upset and asked to speak to manager and despite multiple emails never heard from anyone. With the expensive charges etc I am shocked at the terrible service I received and how mismanaged and disorganized South Bay BMW is... and clearly disrespectful toward their long term customers. More
