Terrible experience at Kia in Chesapeake, VA. I took my boyfriend's car to get serviced for a 11:30am appointment. They tell me service will take probably 2 to 3 hours plus the techs were going on break soon. I told them that it wasn't an issue. We did not know truly what was going on with the car because they would not give him a diagnosis the two weeks prior when he came in for an oil change. He was told, "We don't have enough technicians on the weekends, come back during the week." He works 5 days a week, getting off at 3pm so by the time he would try to get the shop, they would have closed soon. Dkwan corresponded with my boyfriend last time he was there and told him that if I came and dropped it off to get serviced, it would be taken care of, no matter if he was there or not. The other front desk clerks weren't saying that. They told us he had to be there in person. So he talked to Dakwan again and he straightened everything out for the moment. He gave my boyfriend the results of the diagnosis which stated that he needed 4 new tires, mounted and balanced and a wheel alignment. He even told him over the phone about the fact that he would be able to pay over time instead of all up front so we thought everything was set. It wasn't. I sat there for nothing. It turns out he said he thought he had the tires to do the work and then comes and tells me, " We don't actually have them here, they will be in stock tomorrow, so you can just come back tomorrow". At first I said we would come back tomorrow but then i told them no because we could find tires somewhere cheaper. My boyfriend's tire was cracked unbeknownst to me( no damage done from the shop) but when I asked to be checked out and leave, they claimed that they were reluctant to let me leave because of the condition of the tire, yet they never offered putting a spare tire on or offering a rental car. I ended up spending at least 5 hours at the shop with no resolve. This is wrong and this staff should show some type of compassion to a dedicated customer other than saying, " we're sorry for your wait".
