I bought a used Subaru Impreza Outback Sport from Bertera Subaru in Hartford Connecticut but was not pleased with the way the service department treated people. I started getting my Subaru serviced at Steve Lewis Subaru and about a year ago and was immediately impressed with the customer service and honesty of everyone I have come in contact with there. Due to such a great experience at the service department, we decided to get our first new car from them as well since it was time to get rid of my wife's old Hyundai. We didn't have an appointment so we just walked into the show room and met Gus Erskine, who we both immediately liked. Gus was the best sales person we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, not just with purchasing a car. He was extremely down to Earth, patient, and most important to me....honest. He did not try to upsell us once, and took the time to go through all of the Impreza models we were interested in, in detail. Through the process of trading in my wife's old Hyundai, we found out that her car had the mileage tampered with and that it was previously a total loss vehicle. We had a family friend who is a master mechanic look over the car before buying it so we made the mistake of not getting a Carfax report before buying it. Even though the vehicle was worth absolutely nothing, Gus and Myron Call endar, who went through all the paperwork and financing with us, were kind enough to give us a good discount for the trade in. Working with Myron was also a pleasure, and he made the process simple and worry free. Both Gus and Myron made us feel like we were dealing with family friends rather than strangers, and we laughed quite often. Gus was even kind enough to brush off our car and warm it up for us as we were finishing up with our paperwork, due to yet another New England snow storm that rolled in. In addition to the staff, the waiting room is amazing. The couches will make you want to take a nap, they have a Keurig with apple cider, and the vending machine is full of nothing but healthy food and drinks....which was icing on the cake for us. Subaru vehicles speak for themselves, especially in New England....so if you are going to look at one anyway, you will not be disappointed if you go out of your way to get to this dealership. More
This is our second Subaru Outback from this dealership and this salesman, and that fact alone should speak for itself. Both times we found our experience to be pretty much the same - excellent. He's extremely personable, very knowlegable about the brand and best of all, he does push or make you feel rushed about making a decision. We would certainly go back to him should we decide to purchase another Subaru and would highly recommend him to anyone we know who might be thinking about buying a car. It was our first time working with Myron Callendar, and we found him to be great to deal with as well. Overall this dealership and the people working there are top flight in our opinion. More

I visited Steve Lewis Subaru to get a trade-in value on my 2012 Forester and was greeted by Gus. He was great! He quickly got me a trade-in value so I could start my search for a new 2014 Forester. I re my 2012 Forester and was greeted by Gus. He was great! He quickly got me a trade-in value so I could start my search for a new 2014 Forester. I really appreciated that I did not feel pressured at all on my first visit and was allowed to explore the Forester inventory that was in the back lot on my own. Of course I found one I loved! I negotiated everything through emails with Gus and a week later, on my second visit, I was driving away in my new Forester. Gus made the whole car buying process (usually very stressful for me) a breeze. Gus is knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. He also followed up with me after the sale to make sure I was completely satisfied. He is a true asset to Steve Lewis Subaru. Thank you Gus! More

We were given plenty of time to make our decision - but once we made our decision, everyone was super efficient about getting everything processed - including the paperwork and loan, as well as getting our trade in dealt with. There weren't any glitches, or "gotcha's" or anything that came up that made us wonder if we'd made the right decision. It was the most painless car purchase we've ever made. We'd highly recommend Steve Lewis (and especially Jesse Billodeau) to anyone looking for a car. More

The price of the car was on par with other dealers but they don't do much bargaining on the price of the car. That said, I would recommend Steve Lewis for the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the quickness of getting the purchase process completed. AND, you can get free popcorn! More
I revisited Steve Lewis because I was thinking about trading in my 2011 Forester. I loved the car but also new that I could trade it in for a newer model and get a good value for my trade in. We asked for John Acadia as he sold me my 2011 Forester. He has been in contact with us since our last purchase and we had a great experience the first time. This time was just as great. We test drove the car and John was very knowledgeable about all the features of the car inside and out. We wanted a manual transmission and even though there was not the model that I wanted on the lot, John went out of his way to find the color and model that I wanted within just a few days! All of the paperwork that has to be signed can be overwhelming, but the staff was patient, explained every detail every step of the way and answered all of the questions that we asked. When we picked up the car, John explained all of information about roadside assistance, maintenance, etc. and then took us out to the new car. What a beauty! I think the thing that probably impressed me the most was his patience as he explained all of the features of the car (which button operates which feature) and helped me to synchronize the Bluetooth feature to my phone. I am technology challenged when it comes to my phone, but he made it seem so easy! I recommended Steve Lewis to my son's girlfriend (she bought a car there this past fall) and I would recommend them to anyone in the area without hesitation. The service center is also very helpful and efficient. I have nothing but good things to say! More
