Buying a used car Being in the market for a used car I went to Stevenson Toyota East because they had a car I was interested in. Talked to the salesman and then we went Being in the market for a used car I went to Stevenson Toyota East because they had a car I was interested in. Talked to the salesman and then we went on a test drive. Stopped and picked up my wife and after a short drive we headed back to the dealership to make a deal. Pulled up to the front door and the first thing I heard after getting out of the car was "this car has been sold" The salesman I was dealing with went inside to confirm what we were told and sure enough, the car was sold while I was test driving it. Was told later that a gentleman that had test driven this car earlier in the day came back in and purchased the car. First off I really don't think the dealer should have taken his money while I was in the process of buying the same vehicle. If the other gentleman wanted the car he should have either completed the deal when he was there earlier in the day. If Stevenson was willing to close the deal with him they should have waited until I declined the deal. I realize that what this dealer did was in no way illegal but I have to say that I believe it was as extremely unethical. More
