As a VW owner himself, he knows all the ins and outs about their vehicles, his knowledge is impressive enough to surprise even me, who has had the Beetle obsession for a long time and who is extremely diligent about doing research before any significant purchase. Like myself, he has great admiration for German engineering and design, he loves driving their car and gets the whole VW thing ;) Thanks to his advice I extended my patience and waited for the release of "the latest and the greatest" Beetle Turbo R-line, which he was able to locate to the exact of my specifications only within moments of Beetle R-line release in the US. He had the car shipped to their dealer even without finalizing my transaction on paper and had it marked "SOLD” as it arrived, so that I could have every first right to make it mine. I did and I could not be happier. I am driving the exact car I dreamed about, and it is BEFORE anyone else in the area! That alone makes my experience exceptional. I am in love with my car! Went in to purchase a new car. Pretty sure I wanted another Subaru, but really wanted my old Outback with better gas mileage. Meet with Randall, he thought that the Crosstrek or Imprezza was the right another Subaru, but really wanted my old Outback with better gas mileage. Meet with Randall, he thought that the Crosstrek or Imprezza was the right car. I debated and chose the Crosstrek. He wanted to go inside and see on the computer what they had in stock. He showed me that there were a number of cars, and I selected one with no moonroof or nav, that was blue and had cloth seats. I didn't have everything needed ready. I told him I would come back over the weekend. He begged me to come back the next day as it was the end of the month and he could not pay his rent and needed my sale. I actually felt bad for him and tried to get everything ready. When I went back in, I had Christina rudely speak to me about proof of residency and she showed her annoyance that I would not be financing the car. She made me print out the sales contract for my house. I was overwhelmed with the paperwork and everything going on that I did not realize when I drove off in my new car that Randall had actually sold me an imprezza. There are small differences between the two, but the one I selected the Crosstrek for was the ground clearance. I trusted that it was the right car. It wasn't until I went and sold my old car immediately after that I realized their mistake. I called them and immediately went back to sort it out. They told me they would get the car I wanted, but I had 15 min to decide between available ones (if I still wanted blue I needed to pay an extra 300 and couldn't have it for 2 more days). Randall also gave me wrong information and told me that the Outback and Crosstrek are the same height. Not true, but had an effect on my decision making on the car. I had just sold my car and had no transportation! It's 6:00 on a Saturday. Ryan comes over and explains that I need to buy a car on their lot, or maybe the new car I want will be "backed into a pole" or sold to someone else before I get a chance to buy it, etc etc. I beg them as it is their mistake to help me rent a car or give me a loaner. Ryan even mentions that they are allowed to give people a weekend long test drive, but they won't do it for me unless I agree to buy the car in another color (I wanted the blue one). I have no car and they are closing. They lie and tell me that all loaners are out. Finally Richard comes over and tells them to just give me a loaner car and we work out that I can pick up the car I think I want on Tuesday. After leaving I realized that I selected one with a moonroof, but didn't want one. I e-mailed to let Randall know as soon as I make this decision. They give me a hard time and tell me I need to buy the one with a moonroof. I don't want it. They did see if they could get the car I wanted, but were unable to. They demand the loaner back and tell me to shop elsewhere. Within an hour I return the loaner - with more gas in it than when I left. I then went to another dealership and purchased the car. 2 days later I get a call from Richard again. He wants to know when I will return the loaner. I ask him to go check the records and see that they have had it for 2 days! So disorganized and high pressure. It's tough to make decisions when under pressure. I will never go back. But in the end, I was able to make the right purchase for me, and love my new car! I was asked by Randall to submit a review on this site. More
I went to buy a new car and had a great sales experience with Nermin, who was very accommodating. I was very happy with the car but there was an issue with it several weeks after buying it and Nermin and J with Nermin, who was very accommodating. I was very happy with the car but there was an issue with it several weeks after buying it and Nermin and Jamie went out of their way to ensure that I was completely satisfied, which I was. Every time I've been back since the entire staff has been very friendly and helpful. Nermin and Jamie are exceptional, as are Erik and Norman, who have answered questions I have had and delivered exception customer service every visit I've had. I would deftest recommend buying a car from this group of folks. Thanks again. More
My husband and I knew the lease on my Jetta was just about up, and with a baby on the way, we were thinking we might upgrade to a VW Passat. Looking at prices online, we could already tell that Stohlman VW was way cheaper than other VW dealers in Northern VA. We hoped when going into the showroom that we would get the same no-nonsense approach that we found online, and it was actually even better. Erik was an amazing sales person - he has a laid back attitude but knows a ton about the cars. He's not pushy in any way, and even had us test drive another Jetta after we test drove the Passat just to make sure that upgrading was what we wanted to do. Car buying can be a huge hassle when you work with the wrong people, and the process at Stohlman with Erik was a breeze. We are so happy with our new Passat, and with the friendly, easy to work with staff at Stohlman. More

He located the car we were looking for, the wheels we wanted and made our wish come true!
