The dealer had posted online on Cars.com the sale of a new 2021 yellow Bronco for the price of $99,999. I was curious about the price as these sounded like a 100% markup. I can understand the current mark new 2021 yellow Bronco for the price of $99,999. I was curious about the price as these sounded like a 100% markup. I can understand the current market situation with short/small inventories, but not to the degree of marking up a vehicle 100%. They replied and said that the vehicle was actually a demo vehicle, which would not be for sale at least until January of 2022. So why put the ridiculous price in the first place...and secondly, why list a vehicle purposely knowing that is NOT for SALE! It is because of dealers like this that make me trust less of online listings. How can trust dealers when they do this online....why not advertise that they have a demo for just that...demo, instead of this shenanigans. Direct quote from email response ..."that is not the actual price of that specific Bronco. The reason the price shows up that way is because it is not currently available yet. It is being used as a mannequin for test drives and showing. At this time, we do not have a Bronco in stock, however we can order one for you if you would like."... More
