Sir, I am sorry you are unhappy with the way this has turned out, but there is more to this story that needs to be reported. The truck in question was your truck. You were buying a new truck and your son wanted to buy your existing truck. By doing that, however, you would forfeit the tax savings you would receive for trading the truck in. To help you with the taxes, we agreed to do an "in-and-out" where we count the truck as a trade so you receive tax credits, and then sell it right back to the buyer of your choosing (we make no profit on in-and-outs. They are done only as a favor to buyers who want the tax credit but want someone they know to have the vehicle). As you indicated in your review, you were completely aware of the issues that the truck had as your son was buying it. We did in fact sell you a warranty at your request in hopes that the necessary repairs would be covered. The warranty company would not cover pre-existing issues, however. We have processed your refund for the warranty.

So I am the “son” who you are talking about in your response. I am the current owner of the truck. When I purchased the truck, it had no pre-existing issues when I purchased it. I had taken the truck in multiple times before, and the service team was not able to definitively find an issue. It was multiple different issues within weeks of each other and there was no improvement to the truck performance or care after leaving the dealership. Speaking on the part of the warranty, I was offered (I did not request personally) a warranty by Sulphur Springs Dodge. I believe that if it is offered by the dealership then it is up to the dealership to confirm that there are no previous issues before offering a warranty that they later plan on not honoring. It was lazy on Sulphur Springs Dodge’s end for not checking before offering a service. Instead, they later revoked their offer because it was found out to have issues. And these issues can not be proved by Sulphur Springs Dodge due to their lack of investigation and documentation before offering the warranty.

Hey Mike . My name is Shawn . I'm the GSM here at SS Dodge . I wanna first apologize for your headache that you feel you have to endure but also wanted to touch on a few things in your review . When we take a vehicle in on trade it automatically goes on our website . Sometimes those vehicles haven't been through service yet . They are all initially for sale but we also want to make sure that our vehicles are safe for our customers and families to drive . There are a few instances where we agree on numbers and then when it goes through the shop we find that it's has constant issues or is unsafe and we would rather send it the auction then have an angry customer who is upset because they just spent 25k and the vehicle keeps breaking . When you came in on Saturday I was able to retrieve your title to your trade and also have your down payment overnighted to you. I also know that we gladly put fuel in your vehicle for making your trip . We would rather you be upset that we didn't sell it to you then be upset that we sold you something that was unsafe and unreliable for you and your family . That vehicle is currently on the back fence to go to the auction but will remain on the website until it leaves . The problem is you're still trying to sell it at full price after telling me it was no longer for sale and only going to auction. I have 2 other people who have contacted you since then and were told it is definitely still for sale and they have all the screenshots verifying the same vin number.
