Do Not Go To This Dealership!!! Do not go to Sun Toyota!! It actually shocks me to say that because I was a loyal customer of theirs for almost 5 years. I went into this dealership a Do not go to Sun Toyota!! It actually shocks me to say that because I was a loyal customer of theirs for almost 5 years. I went into this dealership almost every other month for my service and I bought 3 cars from them but I will never set foot in this dealership ever again. I went in for a regular oil change, they asked me to run numbers because my salesman knew I was interested in the new Camry, but it was right before Christmas so I said no. They sent another salesperson after me later that said that I would qualify for a loyalty program and I should do it because I have been 100% on time with my payments so I said okay to running numbers. The finance guy called my finance company and they declined my loan because of the negative equity and having some extensions on my loan. Despite knowing I was denied for the loyalty program, the finance manager signed the paperwork that was based on the premise that I would get the loyalty program. They were hoping that they could con my finance company into accepting it later. I took off with the car and a few weeks went by. I tried calling multiple times to find out what was going on with my loan because my finance company hadn't received the payoff and I got a letter in the mail stating I was denied from the start. No one would answer my calls and when I asked to speak to a manager I was hung up on twice. 3 weeks went by being ignored so I went into the dealership and asked to speak to the director. The director lied right to my face to try and cover their behinds because they signed a contract with me that they knew would not go through and the finance company already denied. I understand that they have time to shop around for other financing but the deal was made on the premise that I would get the loyalty program which they already knew I wouldn't be approved for. I would not be as upset if they would have been HONEST with me and told me that the loan didn't go through a few days later, but they chose to carry it out for 3 weeks, ignore my calls, and lie to me with every interaction. That is completely unethical! It was not the finance company's fault like they tried to blame it on, it was theirs. When I told my finance company what they did they were beyond shocked and they are launching an investigation on it. All in all, their service department and parts department are amazing, but do NOT trust their finance department. They push you to do the reviews before the loan is finalized so don't even trust all of these good reviews. They did absolutely nothing to make this right with me. I will be taking my next purchase to Clearwater Toyota or even Lakeland Toyota before going here again. If they will treat a loyal customer like this they will do it to anyone. I always spoke of how much I loved this dealership to anyone who asked about my car but now I will warn them against going here. You lost a loyal repeat customer in me and I knew 5 people who were going to go there in 2019 to buy a car but will not be going there. They are dirty and unethical! More
