This was a very weird experience for me. I had come in before to ask if my previous repair (in july of 2019) was still under warranty and I was told no. My transmission began making noises again, so I wen before to ask if my previous repair (in july of 2019) was still under warranty and I was told no. My transmission began making noises again, so I went back to ask again and they said it was under warranty. As I was talking to them to drop the car off to be diagnosed, they said it may take days to get to. So I rode my bike home. And as I am stopped I get a call. They tell me they figured out the problem, my engine mounts went out and caused a hole in the transmission housing, but they hadnt found the hole as it was under the battery. They then said to actually see what the problem was they would have to charge me more for taking out the battery. Their solution was to just say that I needed a new transmission. So they one, did not find the issue as they were uncertain of it. And two were going to charge me more for them diagnosing it for real. Obviously I was not going to pay 6400 for a transmission on a car, which seems excessive, very excessive. So I got back and took my car home after, all in the span of an hour. I checked the engine mounts as they said they were all bad, the top one was not leaking fluid like it did last time, so that was fine and not broken like they said. And we had just replaced the bottom 2 engine mounts. I just wanted to let you know as a customer it felt that the company would do anything to avoid warranties for their customers. Another reason to believe that is because as I was standing there the guy on the phone made up 3 different stories to whoever was on the phone as to why their warranty wouldnt work. As a customer who knows a good amount about cars, I feel lied to and like my money was trying to be taken. More
A dispute arose between Sunset Ford and a nationwide "Complete Auto Care" store over stripped drain plug threads on my oil pan, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Sunset Ford Service Advisor Michael Wilh "Complete Auto Care" store over stripped drain plug threads on my oil pan, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Sunset Ford Service Advisor Michael Wilhite understood that I was stuck in the middle, facing approximately $900.00 in repairs. After consulting with GM-Service Justin Heutel, Mr. Wilhite offered to return the vehicle to working order at a price far less than $900.00, to which I agreed. The necessary repairs were performed in a timely manner. I continue to be impressed with the professionalism, empathy and efficiency of the Sunset Ford Service Department.
