I recently received a voluntary recall notice from Kia regarding the need to either update the software programming on my Kia Soul’s Transmission Control Module or, as necessary, replace the Variable Tran regarding the need to either update the software programming on my Kia Soul’s Transmission Control Module or, as necessary, replace the Variable Transmission. I used Suntrup South’s online service appointment scheduler to set up an appointment and was able to secure the date and time of my choosing immediately, which was a very pleasant surprise since the appointment was scheduled for only a few days later. In keeping with the outstanding customer concern I had experienced from all other members of their team in the purchase of my car, I received immediate email confirmation of the appointment. In addition, I also received two timely reminders and thorough details on all the vehicle and the service information I would need. I arrived early for my 7:00 am appointment and service activity was already ongoing. A few minutes before schedule my Service Advisor, Kyle Owens, guided my car into the service bay, brought me inside, and quickly completed the check-in process. Since I chose to wait while the work was completed, I asked Kyle if he had any idea how long it might be. Kyle gave me an honest, straight-forward answer and told me that if he would personally come back to the customer lounge periodically to keep me updated. The lounge itself was a clean, well-lighted place; comfortable and very spacious with coffee and such available, and a huge flat-screen tuned to local news, all which I found very welcoming and appreciated. Since the service was taking place well before the dealership portion of the building was open, I was unable to stop in and visit with Sales Consultants Robyn Jensen and Kelly Pfeiffer, who both had gone out of their ways to efficiently and quickly handle and direct the delivery of my car. The same held true for Finance Manager BJ Bruner who, even though financing was not necessary in my case, had provided expert assistance in stick-handling through the State’s ridiculously complex new car registration and license transfer processes. In less than one hour after I had arrived, Kyle came back to the lounge to let me know the car was ready and waiting - - much earlier than I had expected. He went over in detail what had been done and provided me with a copy of the Multi-point Inspection than had also been performed. I was back home before the local news broadcast I had been watching was over! I have commented before on what a great team has been assembled at Kia Suntrup South, and am very pleased to add Kyle to the long and growing list of people there who have treated me with kindness, efficiency, respect, and professionalism. Unlike any other dealership I have dealt with in 50 years of driving, this organization truly regards people as more than just customers, and consistently treats people with thoughtfulness, assistance, and personal service. Was not time for a car, but had no choice. Found a used MDX to hold us over. Robyn was the ONLY reason we purchased from them. What matters is how they are handled. All but one person was pleasant and broke the stereotypical car sales person stigma. Better than I've received at any other dealership. My only complaint is that my seat was fully pushed back and the recline felt adjusted too. I sit at the height of someone who is 5’7” which is not super close.
