Marvin responded

I have had the problem with the brakes since the first time towing about 150 miles into my trip. The “check trailer wiring” warning came on and got more frequent into the trip where it even disabled my trailer brakes at times. On past GMC trucks I’ve owned it was the module above the spare tire that was replaced and fixed the problem. I have gone through the trailer wiring and even replaced the pigtail RV connector and have found no issues. My first trip was when the truck was 2 weeks old and the plug was still clean and new. I hear there has been a recall on the 2500 series trucks for this issue, my question is if it is the same module. I need the towing capability and having intermittent brakes is dangerous, I’d be willing to install the module myself, I’m really hoping you can tell me the new module for the 2500 series would fit my 1500 Denali.
