I brought my car for service. They needed to order a part and they never notified me that my part came in. Because no one called me back to let me know the part was in, they did set me up with a rental part and they never notified me that my part came in. Because no one called me back to let me know the part was in, they did set me up with a rental car. They called to let me know my car was complete. As I was on my way to the dealership the rental car broke down in the middle of a four-lane highway. I tried to call several times to let them know I would be late. I could not get Enterprise or Thompson on the phone. I was so frustrated. I after a few hour delay I made it to to the dealership 15 minutes before they closed. When I went out to pick up my car the back end had been smashed in. I walked immediately back and got the service writer who took pictures. The Enterprise person had already left with the rental car. The service writer told me to take the car home and it would be no problem they would take care of it and fix it since it happened on their lot while it was under their care. I drove a half an hour home only to find the service writer left his cell phone in the front seat of my car. I had to drive another half hour back and another half hour back home. The general manager called me and informed me that Thompson would not take care of the repair. And he said it was no different than me parking my car on a mall parking lot. He then accused me of taking the car home getting into an accident bringing it back and blaming it on the car dealership. I advised him to review his tapes and also to speak to his service writer who witnessed the interaction and took pictures of the car prior to it leaving the lot. It took several weeks and numerous stressful interactions before getting it resolved. They finally fixed the car but there is still abnormalities in the paint where they fixed it. I made the body shop manager aware and he has not followed up. This happened in the fall. The part they were waiting for was for my air conditioning during a fall heat wave! I waited to respond to this customer satisfaction survey because I wanted to see the dealerships response. I am absolutely shocked that No one from Thompson has ever contacted me to perform any service recovery at all! When they sent the car home the emission light went on before I even made it home! This is a one year old grand Cherokee! More
