Ended up with a Charger R/T! I was in search of a new vehicle to replace my 2005 Dodge Dakota and was referred to Tom Ahl by a neighbor, who had purchased many from this dealer. I was in search of a new vehicle to replace my 2005 Dodge Dakota and was referred to Tom Ahl by a neighbor, who had purchased many from this dealer. Being new to our county we started our research online. The dealer in our county had poor ratings and reviews, but Tom Ahl had 4 out of five stars. I contacted them and spoke with Jeff Skelly, he was easy to work with, and emailed all finance numbers and options. We made an appointment to work a deal on a Jeep Wrangler, half way through doing paperwork, me and Jeff were talking Muscle cars. That's when he mentioned a Dodge Charger, highly reduced to move (2018), THAT got my attention QUICK! We drove it and it was love at first sight. Jeff did not even blink at the deal change or paper work change. When we met with the finance person, Maggie Farler, she was kind and very straight forward. My wife is a professional business accountant and had analyzed the numbers ahead of time. In the past she has busted out finance people for playing the shell game. There was none of that here and I was amazed, because I sit back and watch her work numbers and negotiate. Working with Jeff and Maggie was a very pleasant experience. Frustrated I was disappointed after all the good i had heard about tom ahl. When i told them i needed a new key phob setup for my vehicle they quoted me the pri I was disappointed after all the good i had heard about tom ahl. When i told them i needed a new key phob setup for my vehicle they quoted me the price. I know how much i can order them online for but was willing to pay the extra and have it done through the dealership. After they were done i went to my truck to see a partial keyphob sitting there. I walked in and asked where the rest of my keyphob was. They informed me that if i wanted the other part, which is the basic metal key insert to unlock the door i would have to pay an additional 155 dollars. Now i have not been able to find a keyphob anywhere online that doesnt include the actual key. The part they wanted another 155 plus for. So, i left there frustrated and realized that i will never return again. So sad that they took the key out and then wanted to bill me that much after i had told them i needed the setup in case i ever lost the original. Shame. I cannot blame the employees for the managements choice to do something like this. More
Disappointed I don't know if I'd recommend service center. Two times in a row I have had loud noise resulting from the air filter not being clamped down properly. I have to drive an hour to Lima to have my car serviced. The time before when I returned home my husband as able to determine what he thought was wrong. Wednesday when I had service done I knew why it was sounding like a race car, and I returned to service center to have it attended to. My 91 yr old mother was with me and kept me company earlier in the day while we waited over an hour and a half for service to be completed. She wasn't impressed when I had to return to service center. This may seem like a small thing not worthy of my concern, but it does make me wonder and question if anything else has been overlooked. So previous to the last 2 trips, I had had no complaints. Am considering trying the dealership closer home the next time. More
