Ever since the first time I came in for service for my VW at Tony VW I’ve been treated with respect and transparency. Wendi Milisits has mostly taken care of my service needs and I’ve come to know her as a f at Tony VW I’ve been treated with respect and transparency. Wendi Milisits has mostly taken care of my service needs and I’ve come to know her as a friend! When my warranty was still valid she helped me get the most out of it, many times going out of her way to make sure I was getting the best service possible at no cost to me. Whereas I would expect a dealership to not tell me certain things to save them money, Wendi was completely transparent with me about how to get the best out of my warranty. Now that my warranty is up she’s made me confident in returning to Tony VW because she truly put me and my vehicle first which is difficult to say about most dealerships or maintenance repair shops. I bought my car here a few years ago and have had nothing but issues, havi plague. Terrible service, no aloha whatsoever and sleazy salesman tactics. I bought my car here a few years ago and have had nothing but issues, having to bring it in for service once every few months to fix problem after problem. The worst of all though is after a particularly rainy season, I noticed leaking from my sunroof which resulted in mold spots on the headliner. After taking it in expecting that this would be addressed and fixed but no, they said we should have been cleaning it out ourselves and that is it an “environmental” factor despite it clearly stating on their user manual that this is something THEY are supposed to do at not just your 10k but also your 20 and 40k service check ups. They told me it had not been cleaned in over two years despite me coming in for 3 checks ups and various other check ups in that time. Their neglect to do their JOB has caused damage to my car and my son now has a wheezy cough due to their negligence. After calling and calling leaving multiple voicemails with no returns back, I called it a loss but I do not want another person to go through this. Mold is dangerous and their failure at every single checkup to simply look at the drain and make sure it is draining properly before it became a huge issue and then doubling down on it once it has been brought to light and blaming me-the customer and NOT a mechanic- how outrageous. I couldn’t imagine having the audacity. What type of company doesn’t return a customers phone calls? One that knows their in the wrong probably. I wish I could attach a photo where it shows “cleaning and filtering out the sunroof drain” is a checklist item on THEIR service manual because it is clearly written in black and white and yet when confronted with this, they said I was supposed to ASK to have that done. WHAT? When you go see a doctor, do you have to request that they check your temperature and vitals??? NOPE. THEY JUST DO IT. Anyway, this is a KNOWN issue amongst dealerships that VW sunroofs are prone to being faulty and causing leaks and damage as there have been multiple class action lawsuits and even a recall on models in the past. All the more reason these service managers should be well aware of and on top of cleaning them out not at the customers request but just as part of their normal maintenance since it what is written in their very own handbook. If this helps even one person decide to go to the tony Volkswagen instead, I’ll feel like I helped. No one should have to drive around with mold in their car pregnant or with a toddler. HONOLULU VOLKSWAGEN IN TOWN is the way to go. More
