I appreciate their diligence in identifying service that is due, this is a 9 year old low mileage vehicle so some things had been missed by previous dealership. The car did still make a rattling sound when I left the dealership, which was the reason for me bringing it in. I took it to my independent mechanic later in the week and at first we had trouble recreating the noise with someone sitting on the passenger side but when the passenger sat behind the driver it was audible again, most likely an axel which isn’t urgent. Long time Toyota Direct customer. Went in for 30K recommended by Toyota scheduled service for my Tacoma. Service representative treated me like I was a fool, and tried to up-sale to me obviously unnecessary services. When I decided against them, they didn’t do the normal service process…no video multipoint vehicle inspection, couldn’t confirm the work they had completed (replacing air filters), when asked and then wrote on my paperwork in red “denied maintenance services” in an attempt to shame me or insinuate I wasn’t doing what I should for my vehicle. I found later in the digital service record that several possible serious issues thy has marked in red…low coolant level, low brake fluid reservoir…and hadn’t said anything about them to me before I left. Were these things addressed? I don’t know? To top it off they put an oil change sticker on my window that shows to change again in 5k miles…which is not what Toyota recommends…which is 10k miles with full synthetic oil. More
