I went to Ford of Greenfield to look at the Raptor I saw on the internet. This truck has many features which were new to me. My sales rep Shane answered all my questions with great detail. We read the overwhelmingly positive reviews for this dealership before going there but ended up having a mixed experience ourselves. We were initially pleased with the customer service we got from our salesperson and while we got a good car at a fair price, the final stages of the process were not as good. Once the negotiations started, our salesperson seemed uncomfortable and I wondered if he weren't used to negotiating with women. I would not go back for that reason. Negotiations aren't necessarily fun anywhere, but this seemed off. I will return to Balise in Springfield where I've had better luck in the past. Also, our mechanic had looked over the used car we were thinking of buying and noted a few areas of wear and tear to address, including the brakes. Our salesperson said the brakes still had some good life and instead of replacing them then, gave us an IOU to have them done at the first oil change. This seemed reasonable. But the first oil change took two hours longer than promised and when I went to pick up the car, they hadn't done the brakes. Since I don't live in the same town and don't normally go to this dealership for service, I was really annoyed. I got a follow-up call to see how the service had been, which impressed me. And the woman I spoke to was sympathetic to a less than ideal experience and said a manager would call me. But no one ever did. More
My wife and I were looking for a used or perhaps new Ford Focus or Fiesta. We met with the sales associate, Marty, who lauded the certified used program and made a very convincing argument that this was the Focus or Fiesta. We were shown and quoted prices for a used Focus and a used Fiesta. We were originally going to test drive both cars, but the Fiesta turned out to be a standard, and we were interested in an automatic. We test drove the 2011 Focus and were pleased with it's performance. As your dealership was the first place we had gone looking (because of its proximately to our home) we decided to do some comparison shopping at the Ford dealership in Northampton as well. While they had a much larger selection of vehicles, most were newer, higher end models that were more expensive than the Focus we looked at in Greenfield. The sales person who worked there was going to look at their other dealership for other options, but my wife and decided that we would go with the Focus in Greenfield. We liked the price we were quoted and wanted to lock in our pre-approved loan from the UMass Five College Credit Union. Also Marty had told us that some other potential buyers were going to look at the car the following day. When we returned to the dealership everything seemed to go well at first, but then two things occurred that soured our experience. First Marty told us that the Focus we were looking at wasn't in fact certified, and gave us the choice of purchasing the car at the price he had originally quoted with a minimal warranty, or pay an extra $500-600 to get the certification. We were not happy about this at all, as he had never mentioned this earlier. We decided to go ahead with purchasing the certification in the end, but couldn't help but feel that we had had a fast one pulled on us. We were then asked to fill out a credit application, despite our stating several times that we already had a pre-approved loan for $17K at 2.29%. We then waited for a significant amount of time while the financial people ran the numbers. We were then approached by a gentleman named Michael who started asking us all sorts of questions about our credit rating. Needless to say, I became very upset at this. We knew that we had some recent credit issues, which is why we had gone through our credit union to secure a pre-approved loan at the rate that we did. We did not want to have to go through any hassle which unfortunately we did anyway. When one of the sales managers, Craig, saw how upset I had become, he came over to try and smooth things over. Marty also came over and apologized since he was well aware that we had the pre-approved loan. Even so, I was ready to leave at that point and go back to the fellow in Northampton. My wife however convinced me to stay and complete our purchase. From that point forward, things went smoothly if not awkwardly, and I was not in a good mood when we left the dealership. Despite the apologies, I didn't appreciate the bait and switch technique around the certification, and I didn't like the way the financials were handled. In our conversations with Marty we had explained that this was the first of two cars we were looking to purchase. However, after our recent experience at your dealership, we will most definitely NOT be purchasing a second car there. Furthermore, we will not be recommending your dealership to our friends, family, or acquaintances. More

From the moment we walked into the showroom, we felt welcome. We were greeted by Michael Terrill who asked if he could help. Mr. Terrill explained that Mr. Dubour was on a test drive with another customer and would return soon. He suggested that perhaps he could start to help, on behalf of Mr. Dubour. We explained that we were interested in looking at a Toyota Highlander. He immediately brought one for us to sit in and examine. At that point, Mike Dubour returned and completed the test drive, thoroughly explaining the vehicle, and completed the sale. We felt that Michael Terrill went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable until our sales person arrived.
