I've purchased 3 cars from this dealership in as many years, but this was only the second time I've tried using their service center. Having been repeatedly assured an appointment wasn't necessary, I a years, but this was only the second time I've tried using their service center. Having been repeatedly assured an appointment wasn't necessary, I arrived shortly after 7am on a Saturday [without an appointment] for a routine/80K miles maintenance visit. The service tech indicated several routine items that needed work/replacing and said it would take ca. 3 hrs. After 5 hours in the waiting room area, I went back to the tech to check on the status of my car, learning he had called me an hour previous, but unfortunately my phone was on silent and I didn't see the call. I was however, sitting behind him in his direct line of sight and there was no attempt to get me from the waiting area. I subsequently learned there was additional work required that I had to authorize, which would take 30 min. Another 50 min later my car was finally ready. I then had a 20 min. wait to get my car from the valet -finally leaving the dealership 6.5 hours and just under $900 lighter in the pocket. I don't mind waiting at the dealer for work to be done, but I expect to have a reasonable time estimate so I can plan accordingly. Granted, my phone being on silent contributed to the lengthy stay, but while in the waiting area i saw plenty of staff coming to get clients when there cars were ready. Perhaps what occurred was more a matter than I don't have a relationship w/ anyone in the dealership, but I'm not sure I want one at this point... I'm a 20+year Toyota owner and expected better. More
