Here is what exact happened: 08-14-2021, we went to this dealer to check out some cars, I was interested to get a 4Runner, sales person was very nice and thorough since I knew what I want. Sales person stated they are having new 4Runner coming either end of this month. To secure the car, we need to put down $500 to reserve it and we could check out the car after it arrived, the $500 is fully refundable if we don’t like the car. It should be simple and straight. I gave them my card and ran the $500 charge. I noticed the confirmation statement on the form was stated “new car purchase deposit form” and this is un-refundable. I pointed out to the sales person, this is not what you just told me. Sales person said he must pulled a wrong form, instead sign on this form, the brought me another plain form without “un-refundable” clause. To be clear, I also asked him to handwrite on the form this payment for secure a car not for purchasing and this is fully refundable. (This is first part of the experience and total time spent was less 30 mins). After about 2 weeks, I have not received any update when the car will be here and I decided shopped elsewhere instead this dealership. In last week 08-23-2021 I sent email to the sales person, I am no longer want to secure this car from them and I need him to process the refund. He said he will check out if he could process the refund to my card directly or not. Later he text me stated “I need to be the dealership to swipe the card for the refund.” So I showed on the past Saturday 08-28-2021. I was there around 3:00pm. The salesman I was dealing with already gone for the day after I checked with the receptionist, she told me someone else will be with me. (Some other sales stopped by to ask if I need any help, they were very nice.) Then receptionist ask me further what I am coming in for. The attitude changed completely after they find out that I am coming for refund not buying a car. After waited over 30 mins, I was checking with her again if anyone is coming or on the way. Only respond from her was “everyone is busy”. Then there is a guy “I found out his name is Damon Pompa from this site” came from middle office area stated that he is the manager and said” To my understanding, you signed a non-refundable form”. I responded him please go back pull the package and find the sales person's hand written on that paperwork before come to tell me what his understanding was. He went back to the office area with an attitude. Waited for a while again, another lady come by asked if I am coming for the refund. I said yes, gave her my name and number. She said she will verify the information. I was trying to look for that guy "Damon" to give more detail or trying to show the email/text exchanged between the salesmen with me. There was another guy was sitting beside with the manager came from nowhere told me “I am not allowed here”. (I also found out his name is Mirza Begovic from this site.) I walked around the open area and checked, there is no such post nor sign stated Employee Only, or Do not Enter etc. I told him I am having an issue need to explain to that manager what happened. First manager Damon told me "They are processing it, the front door is right over there after I get my refund." Overall, the office employees or especially managers are very rude, no respect and have no patience to find out or verify what happened before make their own conclusion. However I get my refund after spent about 2 hours with really awful experience. Those two managers spoked a lot non-sense stuff, such as their dealership will not be closed with refund of mine $500, they require this kind payment to prevent thousands of people come in to test drive without buying a car, etc. etc. I recommend void this dealership and if you really want to go, double check the form before you sign anything. Luckily, I caught the form was not correct one at the beginning and I could imaging how much more difficult it would be if I really signed un-fundable form. More
Working with Alex Kazemi at Toyota of Plano was great. If you are looking to purchase a new or used Toyota, I would highly recommend this dealership in general, and Alex specifically. He is easy to work If you are looking to purchase a new or used Toyota, I would highly recommend this dealership in general, and Alex specifically. He is easy to work with and extremely accommodating. Best of all, there was no sales pressure. He simply answered all my questions and made us feel welcome. My thanks to Alex for making my dealership experience pleasurable and hassle free. And we all know that's not very common these days. More
