Took us on the test drive with the car and we instantly fell in love even more so.. The car that won our hearts was an Lexus ES 350, unfortunately, two weeks after we left, we were rear ended. Flash forward to today.. Claude got us into a brand new 2014 Camry straight off the showroom floor. We would definitely recommend Claude and the team here at Broadway Toyota anytime they are looking to purchase a new car! More
Big thanks to Claude Richards! This past Sunday I was looking for cars. My 1998 Camry was totaled by another driver who hit me, so I was looking for a (new to me) used car. Though This past Sunday I was looking for cars. My 1998 Camry was totaled by another driver who hit me, so I was looking for a (new to me) used car. Though my '98 Camry took me 222,000 miles, I wasn't sure I wanted another Camry...but I was fairly certain I wanted a Toyota. I had no intention of buying a hybrid. When I arrived at Broadway, Claude Richards came over and introduced himself to me. I gave him the run down on my situation and we began looking around at different cars on the lot. He was very informative, helpful and friendly. I can't remember how the topic of hybrids came up, but I told Claude that there was no way I would buy a hybrid/Prius, as the cost of repairs would be far greater than I could afford. I am still at the stage in life where practicality and reliability are #1. Claude, who studied green energy in school, very matter-of-factly gave me a great explanation of the Prius engine and how they are actually VERY cost effective, how they are built and how they run. He wasn't trying to convince me to purchase one (if it is way out of my price range, you will NOT be able to convince me anyway...just xxxx me off for not listening to me). I was impressed, and I ended up buying a 2010 Prius with 76,000 miles on it which was in my price range after I talked the dealer down about 2k. Even after I talked to Claude I wasn't considering a Prius because the price was way outside my range. I just got lucky that there was this ONE that had a few more miles and was a few years old. I looked and or called every Toyota dealer in the Vancouver/Portland/Beaverton/Wilsonville area and none of them, including Broadway, had a Prius in this price range. This is the ONLY reason I did not buy a Prius with Claude. I really wish I had purchased one with him, because he deserved the cash in his pocket WAY more than the salesman I bought from in Vancouver. At first this other man was nice, but when I came back on Sunday to talk about buying the car...he was every bit of awful slimy salesman stereotype that none of us want to deal with (an why we all dread buying cars, let's face it). Again, kudos to Claude. Although I cannot speak to a buying experience at Broadway at all, If you are curious about the Prius, call, or head over to Broadway and ask for Mr. Richards! (Two additional notes: The Prius I purchased was a Certified Toyota, but just to be safe I took it to an independant auto shop and paid the $99 just to make sure. It passed inspection with flying colors. They couldn't find one thing wrong with it, just noted that the struts generally need to be replaced at 90-100k...but they ones on the car were in great condition). More
Dishonest dealership I purchased a 2011 Toyota Tundra on 11/27/13, salesman was Dustin Franke. I agreed to purchase a Toyota Vehicle Service Agreement ($1525.00) and a Toyota Auto Care ($410.00), but was promised by Max Hanley that I could cancel them at any time. On 12/2/13 I went to Broadway Toyota to request that both policies be cancelled. I spoke to Dustin Franke and someone else from Finance. I signed a request to cancel the service contract. I was very specific that I wanted both contracts cancelled, but was tricked when they only checked the Service Contract, not the Toyota Auto Care. I wanted to pay the entire purchase price of $26,100 for the truck, but was told to only pay $10,000 and finance the remaining $16,100. I did pay $16,100 on 12/31/13. After several phone calls to the lender (Wells Fargo), and to Danny Lucero at Broadway Toyota I learned that on 2/27/14 the $1525.00 vehicle service agreement was reimbursed, but they did not cancel the $410.00 Toyota Auto Care. They said I did not request both policies be cancelled, but that is a lie. I have a witness who accompanied me on 12/2/13 to Broadway Toyota. I called them on 2/28/14 to complain that only one policy had been cancelled. I spoke to Danny Lucero who told me I needed to sign another request. They emailed me another cancellation notice on 3/1/14. I completed it and emailed it back to Max Hanley on 3/2/14. As of today, 5/19/14, the policy has not been credited to the loan yet, and it continues to accrue interest. I expect Broadway to reimburse the policy and to pay all interest that has accrued since 12/31/13. More
Stoping playing like the kids At first, my friend and I want to buy two cars in town. I found the offer from the other dealership, and I gave braodway toyota a call at 6 Pm of 5/14, They said they would have the offer than that dealership. I been there at 7pm talk with them about the price of two cars. One sales and we had already reach the goals and will do it on 5/15 (tomorrow). On 5/15, I gave them a call before coming the dealership, I afraid my English listening is not good enough, I asked them two times just want to make sure. And the sales said yes and promised to do that. At 3pm 5/15, we already there. we felt very strange and so confused about why we talk with the different sales who we met yesterday. we did done the Credit checks, we spent 2 hours on that. After that,He brought a paper and said they can not go to the offer that what they said last night and each one would be more expensive. I tried to talk with the sales who talked with us yesterday and he seem like want to far away from us and pretend did not meet with us and don’t know us. It happened in to cars. They wasted us 2 days just for cheating us. We also missed the deal of two cars of the other dealership. Finally, we can’t buy the cars. When we were living, we stood next to the sales who met us yesterday when he were talking with the other family. When he done, we said Hi! A person who said he is this sales’ manager and said he can talk with us. And that sales left us without any apologies .We did not said anything with that sales. We have high students in the group for translating and he asked for leave to there, we have families to work and they also asked for leave. Their jobs are to help others to buy cars instead of cheating us and wasting our time or money. I do not why it would happen in this kind of the dealership in town. I do not know why toyota would set this kind of dealership in town.. I DON’T want to see it happened to the other customers again,It is ridiculous and we are not playing games like the kids! More
Misleading salesmen I recently purchased a new vehicle from this dealership. The salesmen were deceptive and made the entire process drawn out and disappointing. First, I recently purchased a new vehicle from this dealership. The salesmen were deceptive and made the entire process drawn out and disappointing. First, the negotiations on my trade in were started with an extremely low offer and it took a long time to get them to agree to a fair price. Then, after the negotiations on a new car weren't going anywhere, I left the dealership and returned home. Contacted by phone by the salesman and agreeing to a price and some additional cash down, I returned to sign paperwork. Salesman left and after signing papers, I discovered that the agreed upon price was not what they charged me. The salesman took the additional cash off the price, but didn't adjust to the price we discussed over the phone. Deceptive salesmen and deceptive sales tactics. More

My Broadway Experience I contacted Broadway Toyota to purchase a white four-door 2014 Toyota Tacoma four-wheel-drive pick up truck for my business. I spoke to a "Senior sale I contacted Broadway Toyota to purchase a white four-door 2014 Toyota Tacoma four-wheel-drive pick up truck for my business. I spoke to a "Senior sales associate", named Adam. He spent the first few minutes telling me how important customer service was to him and his dealership. He kept repeating over and over that he wanted to "earn my business". He also repeatedly stated how great his prices were. I had done some research and I was prepared to pay about $32,000 for a 2014 Toyota Tacoma with the options that i wanted.. I told Adam that I had a discharged bankruptcy in 2011 but that I had a large $10,000 down payment and that I wanted to finance approximately $22,000. I told him that I could also put down some additional down payment, if necessary. He was supposed to call me back the following morning at 8 o'clock with some "final numbers". He never did call me back even though I left him a message the following morning. His "finance person" did, named Eric. Eric told me that "they had a great 2007 gray Toyota Tacoma four door with 61,000 miles on it, that they could "get me into". I told him that I wasn't interested in a used truck with 61,000 miles on it, I had called for a brand-new truck. I told him that I had a large down payment and he acknowledged that, but said the bank would feel a lot more comfortable if they were to lend me money on this truck rather than the new one. When I ask him how much I was paying for the used truck, he actually told me that he didn't know. He told me that I should just focus on the payments which were going to be $350 a month. At that point I asked to speak to a manager, because quite frankly, I was in stunned disbelief that they would allow this person, Eric, to even deal with a customer. Enter Jake, a manager, who it turned out, had actually structured the deal. I asked Jake if he knew how much I was paying for the 2007 used Tacoma with 61,000 miles on it, and to my utter amazement, he said 32,000 something. After hearing 32,000, I didn't really focus on the hundreds. I told him that a competitive Toyota dealer had quoted me a brand-new 2014 four-door Toyota Tacoma that was better equipped than their used 2007 Toyota Tacoma with 61,000 miles on it for, $32,049. I ask him how is it possible to buy a brand-new Toyota Tacoma including a sport package and navigation for less money than their less equipped, seven-year-old Toyota Tacoma truck with 61,000 miles on it. At that point Jake morphed into the typical BS used car manager that he is. I feel stupid even putting this down in my review but he actually said this, so I will. Jake told me, that Toyota's hold their value so well that you can get this kind of a resale value for a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. In the case of Broadway Toyota and the mind of Jake, that 2007 Toyota Tacoma with 61,000 miles on it had actually increased in value over a 2014 with no miles on it and much better equipped. Of course we all know that Jake is not stupid, but he obviously thought that I was. When I asked to speak to the owner, I was told that the owner does not speak to customers. That is my Broadway story. If you want to be treated like you're an idiot, from arrogant sales people, and pay the highest prices in the city of Portland, compared to other Toyota dealers, "Broadway is the only way". On the other hand, if you are looking to be treated with respect as a customer, do not waste your time at Broadway Toyota because it will be an extremely frustrating experience. More
We are Seniors on a fixed income. We called around looking for the best price we could find. Zach at Broadway Toyota quoted us a price of 23,746 dollars which included tax and licenses. Out the door a looking for the best price we could find. Zach at Broadway Toyota quoted us a price of 23,746 dollars which included tax and licenses. Out the door and not a penny more, were his exact words. We had stated during the conversation several time that we wanted the 0% interest and not the discount of 750 dollars. Upon arriving at the dealership we were handed over to another salesman, Claude Richards. At this point I must say Claude was the only good part of our experience at Broadway. He was very nice and very knowledgeable. We would deal with Claude again if he were anyplace but Broadway. We were told by Zach when we stated the price that we had been quoted, that we could not have both the discount and the 0% interest. We are not Idiots and didn't want or think we had been given both. Now Zach says the price is 750 dollars higher. At this point we should have walked out and gone elsewhere. I'm so sorry we didn't! From the time we walked in until we could leave took 4 1/2 hours. No deals should take that long when you come in with cash and superb credit. By the time we got to the finance department and Max. We were worn out and frustrated. Max then starts fast talking about what a good deal this 5 Year extended Service plan is. It sounds great at the time when he starts telling you how much all these services are going to add up to and how much you are going to save. When you get away from him and can actually think with out him yapping you realize that you have bought only 3 years because Toyota already gave you 2 years of Toyota Care. We would not do this again and don't think 3 years of Service is worth the 1680 dollars we paid. All in all this was a most unhappy car buying experience. When you buy a new Car you should feel excited when the deal is done and happy with your experience. We were not and would never go back to Broadway Toyota or recommend them to anyone else. More
We went into Broadway Toyota with our usual concerns about getting fleeced. We ended up getting treated the best of any dealer we have been too. Dominique was easy going and very willing to work with about getting fleeced. We ended up getting treated the best of any dealer we have been too. Dominique was easy going and very willing to work with us. Since we live in Roseburg (about 150 miles south of Portland, we did almost all of the dealing over the phone. We got about $2800 off the sticker price of a new 2014 loaded Prius V-5. Dominique met us in Albany to sign the papers. We never went into the dealership. Mary and I love our new car and have a great feeling about our experience at Broadway. More
