I purchased a new vehicle from Group 1 Toyota of Rock Hill on August 14, 2026. On September 10, I specifically asked whether my registration paperwork had been processed and was told yes. However, on September 17 — Day 35 of my 45-day temporary registration — I contacted SCDMV myself and was told they had no information about my vehicle. I immediately contacted the dealership and was then informed that my registration had NOT been submitted because the original Manufacturer Certificate of Origin (MCO) had been lost in transit. According to the information provided to me by the dealership, the duplicate MCO was not requested until September 17 — the same day I discovered the problem through SCDMV and contacted the dealership. Based on the timeline provided to me, no effective action to obtain the duplicate MCO appears to have been taken before I brought the issue to the dealership's attention. The duplicate MCO was finally received on September 24 — Day 42 of 45 — and only then was my tag/title paperwork processed. My temporary registration has now expired, I still do not have my permanent plate, and I cannot legally use my vehicle for work. As a result, I am currently unable to work and earn income. As of September 29, my paperwork is still pending, SCDMV still cannot see the transaction in its system, and I am still waiting with no permanent registration or license plate. Every additional day this remains unresolved is another day that I cannot use my vehicle for work and cannot earn income. I am extremely disappointed that this situation was allowed to continue until the end of my 45-day temporary registration period. Had I not contacted SCDMV myself on September 17, I do not know when the missing paperwork issue would have been identified and addressed. This issue remains unresolved. I have retained the messages and emails documenting this entire timeline. More

My Service Manager Cole was great ! ! He helped me beginning to end ! And when he wasn’t available another handsome associate heard the urgency in my voice and made sure to not only brin ! He helped me beginning to end ! And when he wasn’t available another handsome associate heard the urgency in my voice and made sure to not only bring my car around while I was in route for pick up but also turn the A/C on so it could be cool after I paid with Cole. The video of my vehicle from the technician and detailed invoice with option to wait or approve was a great touch !
