Please avoid going to Toyota of Tampa Bay for purchasing a new vehicle. I just went to enquire about RAV4 but they made me to pay advance amount. The sales person talking to me for an hour compel me sign a a new vehicle. I just went to enquire about RAV4 but they made me to pay advance amount. The sales person talking to me for an hour compel me sign a contract or pay advance amount, since he said I have invested one hour and I am not working for free. Next day he sold me RAV4 XLE with many hidden amount which he did not explain to me. Next is worst part is, Finance manager sold their product which added $100 in the EMI. We said that we already have insurance but he is not ready to leave us with buying their product. Totally all the staff are money minded and not worry about the customer requirements and feeling. So my advice is to ignore Toyota of Tampa Bay when you want to purchase a new vehicle. More

My experience went from being very excited for a vehicle I had been eagerly researching to having my first every panic attack and finding myself in a position where I felt helpless and so overwhelmed. I went in initially to buy a new prius with a trade in. After setting my minimum and holding firm for where I felt comfortable, we ended widdling up my price more and more. The statement I was told over and over is, "You can refinance after six months to get closer to your requested amount. That amount is in reach, you just have to work for it." The cost was well above the tag price for the vehicle because it was brought from Miami (with over 350 miles already) and I was constantly told how much cheaper it is than if I bought it in Miami. I ended up a little outside my comfort zone for cost, but close enough I felt I could swing it. Then I got to the next step and realized that Gap and warranty amounts still needed to be added and the cost continued to rise. By the end, we were far past where I initially wanted to be but I hoped it would feel worth it. As I left the weight of the cost began to set in and I realized I wanted to undo this and make the change when I was more ready. I went back the following morning (less than 12 hours from when I left) right at open. I waited 45 minutes for a manager and it was the same employee I worked with the previous day. He told me that in Florida there is no "Cooling off period" so there is nothing he can do. However, Toyota of Tampa can work with me to get me in a lower cost car. So after looking at a few and waiting over an hour, I was told the options I had, but they were all still so much more than my original request. We went through that process with an even lower car and I was told that there was not much else they can do and this was going to be the best they can do. They knew they had me and there wasn't anything I could do. I left with a car worth 10% less than the one I traded in; while paying more monthly with a loan worth significantly more. I feel wronged and regretful I had faith that car salesmen would not try to pull one over on me. My only positive comment is the woman at the front that greeted me and grabbed a manager for me was incredibly nice. I don't plan to ever return here, nor stick with a Toyota vehicle after this one. They told me I could put a deposit on the car that was coming in already so I did was assured that at any point I can get a refund. Next day I decided I did not want the car anymore called him up telling him to cancel it. He told me I could come get my $2,000 deposit. Went to go get my deposit was told that I would not be able to get my deposit because it was actually a delivery fee. Was not mentioned at all that that's what it was. The car was already on it way and was told it was just to put my name on it. After talking to the "General Manager" don't believe he was since he was young and no name tag. They could not give it back. I went to Crown Honda to do business with them. They went out of their way to get Toyota of Tampa my Deposit Back magically the money was there. So please do not come to this place. Go to Crown Honda. More
