Couldn't have picked a better place to blow a fuel pump! Enroute to Olathe< Kansas, I pulled into Limon to get something to drink. As I came into the convenience store parking lot, I could smell diesel. Enroute to Olathe< Kansas, I pulled into Limon to get something to drink. As I came into the convenience store parking lot, I could smell diesel. Once parked, I walked around the front of my pick-up to see what was going on. Diesel was dripping freely from the passenger side of the engine. After a few calls, I contacted Transwest and asked if they would take a look at my truck. They said to bring it on in. Once the tow truck delivered my truck, Shelby, the service manager started the paperwork. He was polite, good humored and efficient. After an hour or so, Caroline in the service department informed me that the fuel pump had gone out. She presented me with repair options as well as an estimate. I was also told repairs would likely go into the next day, as the part had to come from Denver. Once I agreed to repairs, Caroline drove me to a nearby hotel where I could stay overnight while repairs were being made. Both Shelby and Caroline also recommended several nearby restaurants. The following morning, I received a call from Caroline telling me my truck was repaired and ready to go! I was surprised and elated as I hadn't expected to get back on the road until early to mid-afternoon! Caroline picked me up at the hotel and took me back to Transwest. She informed me that the technician who worked on my truck, Dan, had stayed late the previous evening to get the majority of the repairs done. Truly exceptional! After paying for the repairs and thanking the amazing crew in the service department, I was on my way to Olathe. Call it serendipitous or good karma, I could not have picked a better place to have a vehicle break down! Thank you, Shelby, Caroline and most of all, Dan! And sorry, no, my truck still is not for sale. :) More
