I will start this review by first sharing that I have been taking my Toyota Tundra to Tri County Toyota since we purchased the vehicle in Southern Pines, North Carolina in July of 2006. I never had any been taking my Toyota Tundra to Tri County Toyota since we purchased the vehicle in Southern Pines, North Carolina in July of 2006. I never had any issues with the quality of the service provided for my vehicle until my visit on March 1, 2014. This day I had scheduled my Tundra to have its timing belt replaced along with 65K service as the truck was just shy of 65K miles. While my Tundra was a model year 2006, I probably could have waited till 90K miles for the timing belt replacement, however I am the type of guy who does not skip anything when it comes to vehicle service. I have always been that way my entire life and I treat all my vehicles the same way. I have never had a vehicle let me sit on the side of the road and this is the reason why. I received a phone call in the late afternoon from the service advisor on March 1st and I was mortified to find out that my pristinely maintained Toyota Tundra was no longer running. I immediately asked the service advisor what did the mechanic do to my truck? A truck that is running perfect does not do into a dealership for routine maintenance and come out not running. I was told by the service advisor that the mechanic felt that something else had gone wrong with my truck which caused the engine to fail. My wife overhead the conversation and grabbed my phone out of my hand and well, it was not a very nice conversation she had with the service advisor to say the least. The service advisor hung up on my wife with no offer of any help on this issue. I called back about 30 minutes later and asked to speak to the highest person at the dealership and said I wanted to also peak to the GM about this issue. Pete Paznokas answered my called and immediately apologized for this inconvenience and asked if I could come down to the dealer to get a loaner car while this issue was resolved. We went down to Tri County Toyota late in the afternoon on March 1st and left with a Toyota Camry loaner vehicle. On Monday March 3rd, I called in the afternoon and spoke to Pete about the status of my car. My conversation with Pete was very nice and I also told him I wanted to speak to the GM Brian about this issue. Up to this point, my research had revealed that if a timing belt installed on my interference 4.7 liter V8 iForce engine were done incorrectly, all the valves in the engine would be bent and essentially the engine would be destroyed. I told Pete that I suspected that this is what happened and I also spoke to the GM that day and advised him that this is what I felt had happened to my Tundra. Both Pete and the GM were very apologetic about the issue and when I received a phone call later on in the day on Monday, March 3rd from the Service Manager, I was not surprised to find that human error was the reason why the engine in my Tundra had failed. In short, the mechanic did not correctly install the timing belt and the engine was destroyed. Tri County Toyota informed me that they were ordering a replacement engine for the Tundra and that it would come with a 12K warranty. I did not think that 12K was enough of a warranty since was Tundra was pristinely maintained and had 65K original miles and called Pete to ask if the dealership would consider giving me a 3 yr / 36K warranty on the engine. I was pleased when Pete informed me that the dealership would do that for me. I was also surprised when I received a call from Pete on Saturday March 8th letting my know that the Tundra was all fixed up and ready for me to pick up. I was really surprised at how quick this was turned around. My truck is running like is was before this issue occurred and I am happy how Tri Country Toyota handled this. Pete was instrumental in giving me a voice to the GM and to the Service Department and for this I am extremely grateful. This is what a truly great Operations Manager can do for the customer. I am sure many people would ask me if I plan to return to Tri County Toyota after all of this and my answer is YES. Why? Mechanics are people, not robots. Human beings make mistakes…we all do. The most difficult thing about mistakes is that you must acknowledge them and own their consequences. After this, you learn from your mistakes and try not to make the same mistake again. I am confident that Pete will help the Tri County Team learn from this and the service team will improve. More
I have purchased 2 Toyota Priuses here in the past 10 years, as well as traveled to their location for designated service checks and yearly inspections. They have been my go-to Toyota place when I live years, as well as traveled to their location for designated service checks and yearly inspections. They have been my go-to Toyota place when I lived in Center City Philadelphia, Gilbertsville, and Wyomissing. Early on there was a minor warranted issue with my first Prius that took some persisting to get resolved. All of the customer service steps they took then and ongoing since then have kept me a loyal customer. More

I've purchased several vehicles from Tri-County, but this will be my last. I have complained about a noise in the driver's side door/window from the first week after I purchased my Highlander, only to this will be my last. I have complained about a noise in the driver's side door/window from the first week after I purchased my Highlander, only to be told that no one in service heard anything (for the last 1 1/2 years). Today I was in for inspection/emission and once again (as I always do) stated my concern about the noise. I was finally told that the window was missing a bolt and that eventually it would break if I didn't pay $150 to have it fixed. I complained that I had been concerned about this from the time I bought the car and was told that they'd be willing to repair it for $100 rather than $150. How about for free, since it was obviously a problem when I bought it?? More
Kelly lied in order to make the sale telling us that when it came time for service someone would pick up the car and return it when the service was complete -- it was a great idea, we bought the car. When i it came time for service someone would pick up the car and return it when the service was complete -- it was a great idea, we bought the car. When it came time to have the car serviced, the service department said "we don't do that!". When we requested a call back from the service manager to ask about this selling point, he didn't return three phone calls requesting a call back. We went in to see him. He told us that Service doesn't do that, that sometimes the sales people make that statement to make the sale. I went in to talk with the sales manager who saw nothing wrong with making that statement in order to make the sale. Bad idea, in my book. Says they care more about the sale than the customer. We want to buy our cars from a company that cares about the customer as much as he cares about the cars he is selling. Toyotas are good cars, just use another dealer. More
We used the COSTCO plan to purchase a replacement vehicle. Mathew was very helpful. He was extremely knowledgable about the cars and their options and the COSTCO plan. He walked us through the vehicle. Mathew was very helpful. He was extremely knowledgable about the cars and their options and the COSTCO plan. He walked us through the choices on the lot and took us on the test drive. He answered all of our questions and was not pushy. He followed up with us, and after trying several other cars and dealerships we returned to Tri County to purchase our car from Mathew. I certainly a do recommend him for anyone else's car purchase. This is our second Toyota from Tri County. More
I have been coming to TriCounty since 2005. This is my second Rav 4 and my fourth Toyota. Even though it's 27 miles from my home, I like the service I receive here. second Rav 4 and my fourth Toyota. Even though it's 27 miles from my home, I like the service I receive here. More

I had a 2003 Tacoma truck with 130500 miles on it & wanted to buy another one. Don Richards took the time to ask me questions about my intended use (camping) and showed me the 4Runner. To me, it's almo wanted to buy another one. Don Richards took the time to ask me questions about my intended use (camping) and showed me the 4Runner. To me, it's almost the same as the Tacoma but enclosed (no bed). I drove it and fell in love. Don worked with me to get the options I needed and made the deal happen. I will definetly go back to him when this new 4Runner hits 130000 miles. Such a pleasure to deal with. More
