Hello, We are very sorry about your experience. Please know it is never our goal to leave a customer feeling dissatisfied. We believe our positive reviews are evidence of this fact. Wear on a clutch is not visible, like it would be on a brake pad. The only way to see if the clutch had a problem that would be covered by warranty is to take it apart. We understand that you did not feel completely comfortable doing this. It's our goal to be able to help everyone but sometimes we are limited from doing so. As Bill our Service Advisor explained, if it was an issue with the flywheel the cost would be covered, but not if it is normal wear and tear and the only way to find the answer was to spend the $600. It's our goal to be able to help everyone but sometimes our efforts to please do not turn out the way we intended. Because of Bill’s enthusiasm to assist you, he took your request over the phone for the night drop off believing you would fill out the envelope. When you dropped off your vehicle there was no signature or requested promise time on the drop off envelope, which caused confusion. Your vehicle was ready that day for pick-u, but not at the time that was discussed. This type of situation has never happened before; we have put a new process in place Thank you for bringing this to our attention so we can be sure this does not happen again. Dear Thomas, We did everything possible. Attached is an email that I received on May 23rd regarding the incident. Alex Clapper May 23 I was with Jackie both days the customer came in for service. The first time was due the lock not working and mirror motor inoperable. Jackie did make the customer aware that our rate is 90 dollars per hour for diag/work performed. The customer’s boyfriend got on the phone with Jackie and began shouting and arguing over replacing the mirror versus fixing it, other customers standing in the service area were shocked as to how Jackie was being treated. He also mentioned that the truck was purchased a few months ago in Texas. The Truck is a 2005. They agreed to have Tunkhannock Auto Mart fix the lock. We found the fuse blown, replaced the fuse and the locks worked. Customer was charged less than 60 dollars for over an hour's work. Customer came in a week later stating we did not fix the lock as it was inoperable again. Jackie stated that there must be a wiring issue blowing the fuse and again our rate is 90 per hour. Customer said we didn't fix it properly in the first place and shouldn't have to pay to have it done again, Jackie explained what we did last time, and that it was the appropriate thing to do at that time. Customer said "you don't need to be rude to me" and started crying and called her boyfriend. She stepped out and came back and told Jackie to talk to her boyfriend on the phone. Jackie did not want to go through being verbally abused by him again, she said "I don't need to speak with him, there is wiring issue that will require a few hours to diagnose/fix." Customer left. Boyfriend called 5 min later and was screaming at our receptionist and to Bill the service manager. Bill politely explained everything to him on the phone, again, and said if they wanted it fixed at our labor rate we would do it. None of our staff were rude or mean to either customer. Alex Clapper
