Sales manager gone wrong After being nickle and dimed about our trade-in to the point were we were about to walk out the door, our front tire goes flat the next day. After re-inflating it continues to lose air and we have to bring it to a garage due to being stranded. They showed us a defect in the tire where the side wall was bulging out the size of a golf ball. The garage mentioned that if we were on the highway we could have been killed as it would have been a total blowout. We then bring it to the Charlotte Volvo for repair and they send us a picture of another damage where someone had previously patched the tire. We then have the same sales manager for the next 2 months do the biggest finger pointing game we have ever seen. Calling and emailing that they are not responsible. Wow, 3 days after getting the car we had to have it towed and he is finger pointing. It shows what type of operation this is with no concern for our safety and the risk they put us in. More
BUYER BEWARE! BEWARE OF BUYING A USED CAR AT THIS DEALERSHIP! Honesty is not their policy and neither is a fair deal. We test drove a Mazda 6 that looked great and BEWARE OF BUYING A USED CAR AT THIS DEALERSHIP! Honesty is not their policy and neither is a fair deal. We test drove a Mazda 6 that looked great and had obviously been pristinely steam cleaned under the hood. Thank goodness a bulb was out on one of the front lights. We were offered a $50.00 credit towards our purchase to have this fixed on our own. We followed our instincts and had the car inspected by a professional shop just down the road and they found $2000 worth of issues that needed to be addressed. The "manager" of the dealership never showed the courtesy of meeting face to face with us, but did offer up this reassuring tidbit, "A leakage is different from a seepage." WHAT? No, that is a sales FAIL! Not to mention every bit of this should have been caught during the "detailed inspection" performed by their service department. Maybe it was and the management decided to just "shine it up" instead of fixing the issues or at least being honest and transparent about them. On a better note, the only reason this dealership even deserves 1 star is that the salesman was actually cordial and did talk to management on our behalf. More

At first, we emailed A.J. a few questions about a great lease deal we saw on the dealership website. He answered quickly, was friendly and never hassled or pressured us about coming in to buy. Later in the week, my wife and I went to the dealership to learn more about our options to get into a new car. Over the years, we have been to many dealerships and we were certainly dreading the usual pushy, insincere sales person that would tell us anything we wanted to hear just to make a sale. Our experience with A.J. and University Volvo was definitely not the usual experience. A.J. was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He talked to us about the car and offered a test drive. After we drove a car, he was patient with us as we asked for different options, packages and color combinations and made several trips to look at different models. He never pressured us to buy or made us feel hurried to do anything. Once we decided to buy, Jeff helped us with the paperwork and financing. Jeff was also very friendly and made the paperwork process as fast and painless as it can be. Overall, it was a great experience. A.J. has followed up several times to make sure we like the car. He answered my questions about a car feature and even showed me how to use some of the stereo settings I was having trouble with. We will definitely be back for our next Volvo. More

Poor communication I have had two really bad experiences with my Volvo at University Volvo. Today, by far was the worst. I scheduled maintenance before my warranty was I have had two really bad experiences with my Volvo at University Volvo. Today, by far was the worst. I scheduled maintenance before my warranty was supposed to run out. The warranty was supposed to be 60,000 miles or 5 years, whichever is first. When I made the appointment, the dealership told me everything was fine and the service was covered. I made arrangements to go into work late and took my car in. When I arrived, I was not greeted politely, instead was asked if I thought this was going to be covered by the warranty. I said, yes, as I bought my car in July of 2009 and it was only June of 2014 and it had less than 60,000 miles on it. He proceeded to tell me that my time was up. No warranty so did I want to keep the appointment? He treated me as if I was only there for the warranty and did not care to help me otherwise. He just kept saying your time is up. If my warranty was over, it would have been nice to have known this before I went in for a three hour service. I ended up leaving without having my car serviced. I tried to call back to understand the warranty and the lady that I spoke to was just as rude and combative. It was a very unpleasant experience to say the least. It was so bad that I do not want to go back. Also, beware that if you purchase a pre-owned car that the warranty starts at original inception and not your purchase date. No one explained that. More
Professional, Responsive and Customer Focused I originally contacted University Volvo through their website on a Sunday night and by Monday at 10am I already had an email from AJ Varrichione. He was responsive, friendly and very willing to answer all of my questions. He was easy to work with and helped me get the car I wanted at a price I was comfortable with. I was able to complete the credit application and received approval before even walking into the dealership. When I arrived the car was ready and waiting for me. Greg Cole had all of the financial documents ready for my review and signature. I was out of there within 2 hours. Car shopping can be a very stressful experience and University Volvo made it easy and enjoyable. I would highly recommend contacting University Volvo before any of the competing dealers in the area. More
