Horrible customer service once you sign. They pester me to sell it to them and upgrade. I have emailed, called and snail-mailed requesting they leave me alone, stop contacting. Received yet another email to sell it to them and upgrade. I have emailed, called and snail-mailed requesting they leave me alone, stop contacting. Received yet another email today. VanHorn Dodge: rather than deal with your dealership, I would gladly pay more elsewhere. More
Can't give enough credit- AWESOME employees. I had been trying to negotiate for 9 MONTHS with various manufacturers. Just when I thought I came to agreements (with my money down) with Toyota, I final been trying to negotiate for 9 MONTHS with various manufacturers. Just when I thought I came to agreements (with my money down) with Toyota, I finally gave up on the 4Runner due to unfulfilled commitments. Much to my surprise, I stumbled upon a Dodge dealer on my way to a Honda dealer. I test drove a Durango and LOVED it!! Still, the dealers around me all wanted to play games and answer my specific questions with canned email responses or they would not respond via e-mail because they "couldn't." You HAD to come in - even with pre-negotiated pricing that they supposedly agreed to. We put in a request for pricing outside of our geography and Roy from Van Horn quickly responded with ANSWERS to our questions!! In about an hour we were able to agree to a price. We drove over 100 miles to get to them. Roy and team stayed 2 hours later than they closed on a Saturday night just to wait for us to arrive!! We got there, signed for the price agreed to within 10 minutes with awesome Evert - who did not pressure us, rather explained all options. Then a fantastic employee (sorry we somehow missed his name) spent 30 minutes explaining the features of our new car to us. He would have stayed longer had we wanted him to. I could write a blog about the horrible experiences I've had in the past 9 months. This is a much better use of my time. Van Horn is AWESOME!! I wish they were closer and I'd have my service team set. IT IS WORTH THE DRIVE TO WI to deal with an honest dealer. Dealers WILL, CAN and DO agree to prices without having you sit in an office for 4 hours beating you down. Give them a try! ...they even did this for Bears fans the day before the big Bears / Packers game!! :o) Thank you Roy, Evert, "Durango Trainer" and team!! More
The salesman (unintentionally, I believe) told me the vehicle had a couple of options (blind spot monitor) (Navagational system) (bluetooth radio). After the sale was complete and he started to run thro vehicle had a couple of options (blind spot monitor) (Navagational system) (bluetooth radio). After the sale was complete and he started to run through all the options to show me how to use them, he couldn't hook up my phone. He had to check with someone and they told him it would have to be "upgraded". I later found out it couldn't be upgraded, that a completely diffrerent radio would have to be installed for $2,170.00 plus installation and I also did not have a blind spot monitor which cannot be added. When I went back to the dealership saying they had mis-represented this vehicle they sold me, the manager Josh Koon smugly told me that he didn't have to do anything for me, since I had already bought the vehicle. Josh went so far as to tell me it was my word against his salesman, when not 10 minutes before the salesman apologized to me and said he would never intentionally have lied to me, and I told him that I believed him - he was as surprised as me when the radio didn't have the functions he thought it did and obvioulsy wasn't aware that it was not a simple "upgrade" to remedy the problem. All I asked was that they extend some warranty for me and Josh would only do it if I paid for it. Obviously, this dealership doesn't care about Customer satisfaction or being honest and reputable. I wish I had never purchased a vehicle from here. More
Jorren was great to work with. He had the Mazda pulled into the garage when I got to the dealership; free of snow and ice. He stayed over an hour and a half late, so I could close the deal and take my car into the garage when I got to the dealership; free of snow and ice. He stayed over an hour and a half late, so I could close the deal and take my car home that day! Thank you Jorren~ I will be recommending you and Van Horn to my friends and family. More
I bought my vehicle , new from this dealership 8 months ago. I noticed a leak under my car for the last few weeks, at first I thought it was water, but it was always in the same places. I took pictures of ago. I noticed a leak under my car for the last few weeks, at first I thought it was water, but it was always in the same places. I took pictures of the spots and determined that something was in fact leaking. I made an appt to come in and was told the on the first visit I had to come back because a specific mechanic had to do the job (oil pan gasket leak) I live an hour away so this is significant gas and time for me. I came back the following Saturday, and was treated very well, told the problem was fixed and that it was covered under my warranty. The car was driving a little funny on the way home, but...ok, I didnt know I thought everything would be fine. This morning there was a huge leak under my car in the garage when I went to work. Now I have to drive BACK to the dealership for the same thing again, so far I have spent 7 hours and 60.00 worth of gas to try and get this resolved. When I called Kerry today she was nice, and offered me some gas, but I need this fixed now. More
I went in a little skeptical of being able to afford a vehicle this nice in my price range. They worked so hard to get me the deal I was looking for. Josh went above and beyond his job to find the perfect vehicle this nice in my price range. They worked so hard to get me the deal I was looking for. We purchased a used Ford Edge. We were misled on the phone about the car fax report (told was in very minor accident when in 2 minor and one possible more involved). High pressure sales. I was looking online for a truck, and came upon the truck that the Vanhorn dealership had. I talked to Josh Devriend at the dealership, and he was so helpful. I already had financing in place, but Josh and that the Vanhorn dealership had. I talked to Josh Devriend at the dealership, and he was so helpful. I already had financing in place, but Josh and the team at Vanhorn did my financing right there, which made it easier for me. I had to drive about 500 miles to get there, and Josh and the finance manager stayed after hours to take care of me! I really appreciate the way I was taken care of, it made me feel like family instead of just another customer! Have nothing but good things to say about them! More
I bought a used Jeep from Roy Edwards last October 29th and I would never ever do business with him or Van Horn ever again. I went 45 miles away because I thought they had a great opportunity for me. Boy, and I would never ever do business with him or Van Horn ever again. I went 45 miles away because I thought they had a great opportunity for me. Boy, was I wrong. I have purchased cars from Kolosso Jeep and Gandrud Jeep and have had wonderful experiences so I know what good business looks like. At Kolosso, I left with a full tank of gas and 4 free oil changes. I did not see any quality customer service at Van Horn, whatsoever. Not only was Roy juggling me with two other customers on both days I was there, but he verbally promised more for my trade in (over $6,000) than he actually gave me. I knew the car I was interested in had been in an accident but didn't realize the extent to which it would affect the value. It only came with one key fob and was told I could get another one, but for $200! Upon signing, I found out that the tinted windows were illegal in Wisconsin, (no one had told me about that) so I insisted that needed to be fixed, along with a scratched bumper and a car hood that would not stay up. Roy insisted that it would be fixed in the next week. I left with a car that had not been vacuumed out and a tank filled only a quarter??? After two weeks went by that I didn't hear anything, I called to set this up. It was like we had never had the conversation. I insisted they come pick up the car and leave me a loaner to use. After 3 days, the car was returned with the bumper fixed.... but with tinted windows still firmly in place and a hood that still wouldn't stay up. Immediately, we called and the driver had to turn around to come get the car. After several more days, my car was returned once again and now, the tint was removed.... but that hood hadn't even been touched. Seriously??!! My irate husband called and was basically ignored but the car did go back. Mind you, that was 180 miles of wasted fuel that was not refilled even with the dealer at fault. We insisted they fill the tank when they returned the vehicle for the third time (now at 270 miles), and they did, to half a tank. Can you believe it??? About a week later, the Jeep patches on my floor mats peeled off, the camouflaged fix on the leather interior came off, I noticed my interior lights dimmed every time my right blinker was engaged, and the sun roof leaked when the spring rains came. Go figure!! My husband has recently gone through cancer treatment, so I wanted to refinance in hopes of paying my car off faster to save some money. Our bills had piled up. Unfortunately, I was refused. This was a salvaged vehicle and was worth over $7000 less than I had purchased it for only 6 months prior and the bank wouldn't even consider it. I felt completely scammed and my trusting nature was taken advantaged of in a big way. I decided to trade it into Kolosso to finally get back to a solid quality vehicle, but they could not offer me anymore than what the bank had valued it at. I decided to get a second opinion and went to Gandrud who could get me even less. I am stuck with a worthless vehicle. The funny thing is, Gandrud had called Van Horn to get a buy back price and a few hours later Van Horn called me to see how I was enjoying my Grand Cherokee. Hmmmm.... coincidence???? After hearing that I was not happy, the salesperson, Chris, asked how they could fix it. After some ideas were given, he asked if I would come down to talk. I said I probably could over the weekend. He then told me that he would talk with Roy Edwards (now unbelievably, the manager) and call me back the next day. Surprisingly he has not called 3 days later and I am hardly shocked. I am not sure I would even be comfortable leasing a NEW vehicle from them for fear it would have hidden problems. I cannot believe that Jeep is still associated with this dealership. I am very disappointed in this dealership and after hearing of other complaints, I will continue to warn people against going to this dealership through every channel I can find. It is with great sadness that I feel the need to review Van Horn so poorly. While it seems that nothing in the deal was illegal, the hidden truths were very unethical. My whole ordeal since the sale of my Jeep late last October is posted on The Better Business Bureau website, Yelp.com, and ripoffreport.com for you to view. The decision to write one here comes after Roy Edwards and Adam, the General Manager, couldn't understand that after finding out my vehicle was indeed a SALVAGED vehicle purchased from an insurance company instead of one in "an accident" AND unbelievably poor customer service following the purchase, that I was upset and unhappy with my vehicle. Offering me HALF the amount I had paid for the vehicle only 7 short months ago does not fulfill your promise to "do anything we can to make you happy". Van Horn took advantage of my trust and caught me in a deal that would earn them money, even if my respect was lost. If you are considering a purchase of a used car from Van Horn and it had been in a prior accident, RUN!! Talk to another dealer or your financial institution. It is amazing what they can tell you after running the VIN. Don't let them take advantage of you like they did to me. See my other reviews if you want to know more. I am a first grade teacher that only wants to see the best in people and Van Horn annihilated my positive nature. I am reminded of it every time I get into my car. More
