Most positive and least painful car purchase EVER! I was recently in a car accident and another driver totaled my car. Having planned to drive my 99 Saturn Coupe until it died, I was not planning on g I was recently in a car accident and another driver totaled my car. Having planned to drive my 99 Saturn Coupe until it died, I was not planning on going car shopping for the foreseeable future, but an additional vehicle is needed in our household so my wife and I began searching for a new car. We stopped at a number of dealers and met with mixed results in terms of customer service, over eager sales tactics, and just general ‘superior’ attitude regarding the products the other dealers had to offer. A friend of ours recommended we visit Vann York Honda where she had purchased her car, and also recommended we deal with J.W. on the sales team. We called and let him know we would be coming, and met with him first thing in the morning. He asked great questions and listened to what we were looking for. We went out on a test drive and really loved the Honda CRV. Since we were still comparing vehicles we let him know we would be in touch. This is where his listening comes into play – he gave us our space and let us explore all our options. At other dealers they did the hard-press, “What do we have to do to get you into a vehicle today?” That is a massive turn-off to my wife and I and it shows that the salesperson wasn’t listening to us since we shared at the start that we were checking all our options. Ultimately it came down to the CRV and the Chevy Equinox, and once I compared the increase to our Car Insurance the CRV won out as the insurance was less expensive once the policy would change. When we went back to J.W. he was great, and his Sales Manager and Finance guy helped make the car purchasing experience the least painful we have EVER had in our lives. We would recommend purchasing from Vann York for any car, and J.W. was one of the friendliest and least pushy sales people we have ever encountered. We cannot recommend them enough, and if you are looking for a car (new or used) I would say make them your first stop and then your last stop. More
