In 2009 I purchased a new Toyota Tacoma from Metro Toyota and had the vehicle religiously serviced at this dealership per the manufacture’s recommendations. Hence at least once a year the vehicle was up on t and had the vehicle religiously serviced at this dealership per the manufacture’s recommendations. Hence at least once a year the vehicle was up on the rack for service and safety inspection. During these numerous services at Metro Toyota nothing was ever mentioned regarding the vehicle’s frame rusting. Then on August 3, 2021 I had occasion to take the vehicle to a local Midas shop because a brake anti-lock had come on -- and lo and behold the frame had completely rusted through making the vehicle unsafe to drive. Toyota had a program to replace the defective frames on Tacoma trucks however the program expired during the time when this glaringly obvious frame rusting problem was conveniently overlooked by Metro Toyota. As the frame rusting obviously didn’t take place overnight, Metro Toyota knew or reasonably should have known about this ongoing problem but appear to have been willfully blind to it until the manufactures frame replacement program expired. My Toyota Tacoma has been meticulously maintained and has only a bit over 33,000 miles on it, but it is now essentially junk due to what I believe was either negligence or willful blindness on the part of Metro Toyota.
