Unfortunately, my view has changed on Volkswagen of South Charlotte. When I bought my 2022 Taos, I was told if I ever had any questions to stop by or call anytime. I had a few questions about my car and the 2 yellow warning lights that appeared on my dash a few days ago. My car has less than 3,000 miles. I called the closest dealership to my house to schedule an appointment. The Florence VW dealership told me to have it checked out in Charlotte, where I bought it. Considering I live 2 hours away from the dealership and was visiting a friend in Gastonia for the weekend, I decided to stop and get some of my questions answered. I didn’t go to Volkswagen of South Charlotte and expect to get my car serviced without an appointment. I simply stopped by Volkswagen of South Charlotte to ask some questions about my car, the new 2023 Taos, and schedule an appointment for a later time. Unfortunately, Vinny was on vacation (best salesperson ever). John helped me out with my questions and concerns. I asked him about the two lights that came on earlier in the week and showed him a picture. He asked me to drive around to the service department he was going to find out some information and he would come find me. I pulled in the service department and explained John from sales directed me and asked did I need to move or park. The service guy in a grey shirt with short hair approaches my window and I explained John from Sales told me to drive back here and he would be here shortly. The guy in the grey shirt in the service department was incredibly rude and needs to learn about customer service. He proceeds to tell me that he didn’t know what was going on with John, but they were booked today and he couldn’t look at the car until next week. I explained that I was confused and I didn’t expect to have my car serviced without an appointment, I was just following directions from the salesperson named John. The service guy in the grey shirt was very disrespectful and didn’t offer to assist me in anyway or find John. Instead of communicating with his coworkers or helping alleviate the confusion, he decides to take his frustration out on me. I left the dealership feeling humiliated and will never return. I hope Vinny finds a better place to work that offers the same quality customer service as he does. This is my first time owning a Volkswagen and honestly I’m most likely going get something different based on my experience and customer service thus far.
