From beginning to end my experience with Volkswagen of West Islip, sunrise imports was terrible. Let me just start by saying, I was looking for a very specific car across the entire country and unfortunat West Islip, sunrise imports was terrible. Let me just start by saying, I was looking for a very specific car across the entire country and unfortunately, this was the only group that had the exact car that I wanted. From the general manager, Vito never calling me back, never following up on anything, to the sales people lying, and telling you that even if I was to walk in and pay cash, I would have to go through their financing. You see it over and over on the reviews where they try to tell customers that the only way they can sell you a car is if you use their financing. That obviously isn’t the truth, in the packet as you’re signing everything you have to sign off on a form saying that your own financing was available. At this point, my credit was already ran, and everything was already done, so I didn’t want to go through the hassle of using my own financing, instead I just refinanced everything as soon as I got the car, making sure that the dealer never got any credit for using their Ponzi scheme bank Another issue I had was I bought this car out of state and had a company do a full inspection. Upon inspecting it, they never noticed the passenger fender was damaged, and after I received the car and transport, the transport company confirmed the front fender piece was damaged upon pick up, and the car dealer cannot prove in any pictures that it was already damaged when they had it. The company that I hired to do the inspection told me that if they missed it, they would claim it under their insurance, so I reached out to Volkswagen of West Islip 15 times just to get the original pictures so I can prove to the car inspection company that the damage was already there and they just happened to miss it so they can pay for it with their insurance. The fact that nobody at Volkswagen of West Islip would even respond to me, makes me feel that this damage happened between the time that I bought it, and when the truck picked it up and Volkswagen of West Islip should have their insurance pay for it. They never disclosed there was only one key, this is a total cost of about $1000 to order a new one and have it programmed. I know when the person traded the car into them they knocked them down on the price because it was missing a key fob, and they hid the fact from me that it didn’t have the extra key fob. It only came with one whenever car comes with two. So between the damage on the car fender, being absolute liars about using their financing, and missing the key fob, I don’t see any other way to resolve anything with horrible dealers like this other than a civil lawsuit More
So happy with my new Truck, My sales rep Evan Roth took the car buying experience to the next level and has raised the bar for all other salesman. Can confidently say this is the only place to buy a car wi the car buying experience to the next level and has raised the bar for all other salesman. Can confidently say this is the only place to buy a car with full transparency! More
I called this VW of West Islip dealer about the ID Buzz they advertised online for $47,996. Since I'm out of state, I asked for the out-the-door price. First, “Mariah” tells me they only provide OTD prices they advertised online for $47,996. Since I'm out of state, I asked for the out-the-door price. First, “Mariah” tells me they only provide OTD prices if you're at the showroom. But she passes me to Kate Jordan, who immediately hands me off to “Greg”. Greg also waffles on pricing, saying he needs to talk to the general manager and will get back to me. Hours later, I get a text saying they will beat any offer I get in writing from another dealer. Are you kidding me? Why did we all waste each other’s time if you’re just going to run a bait ad, advertise a low price, and never honor it? There are plenty of other VW dealers… go to them and don’t waste your time here with these fools. More
DO NOT buy a car from this dealership! Purchased a used car from them and they never gave me a bill of sale, never explained any part of the purchase price AND charged $4000 more for the Purchased a used car from them and they never gave me a bill of sale, never explained any part of the purchase price AND charged $4000 more for the car than what they advertised and what we we told we would pay even after providing proof of what the price should have been Now they refuse to answer my questions about the price and have made excuses as to why NO ONE has responded to my question which I have called texted emailed and left voicemails about every day since we purchased it DO NOT trust anyone at this dealership More

Keep a look out for significant additional fees or charges they dont disclose until your credit is checked and you are with finance. In my case i was going to pick up the vehicle coming out of state w charges they dont disclose until your credit is checked and you are with finance. In my case i was going to pick up the vehicle coming out of state which i have clearly mentioned yet they did not disclose these details as you may back out. The interion of the car was not clean underneath the seats so they cleaning was not thorough either More
I would avoid at all costs. I called to confirm pricing before driving to the dealership and was told they would honor the Cars.com cheaper listed price versus their website. I I called to confirm pricing before driving to the dealership and was told they would honor the Cars.com cheaper listed price versus their website. I was later hung up on while trying to figure out why the price is $5,000 higher than the online listing without tax. Once there they would not honor Cars, com price until Joe the manager got involved who was helpful. After negotiating the price for hours which was filled with small print and hidden charges (a $1995 payment, $695 dealer prep fee $900 reconditioning fee and another ~$300 in dealer processing fees) they tried to sneak all the money back in at the end and claimed they made a mistake and forgot to remove the down payment. At the financing stage a rude manager knowingly lied to me multiple times stating the loan isn't amortized interest because it's a "simple interest loan" and that longer term loans are lower interest rates and forced us into a 72 month term for a higher kickback to the dealership. Tried to say he can't run the numbers again for a 60 month term because it will hurt our credit knowing that hits are compiled into one inquiry within a specific time frame. After all this he also tried to force a extended warranty and continued to state WE are wasting his time..... More
Where to start? Not at Volkswagen of West Islip. Do not purchase a vehicle from this dealership. They are not honest and not kind. So it has been 5 months since Not at Volkswagen of West Islip. Do not purchase a vehicle from this dealership. They are not honest and not kind. So it has been 5 months since I have bought my Jeep from Volkswagen and if I could do it again, I would never do it. I have yet to receive my key fob that I should have gotten before I drove the car off the lot. I do not have a key to enter my vehicle and any time I ask for it, my request has been ignored. I already need new tires, (which the car could have used before I bought it) and the oil change that I was promised would be paid for has been paid for by me, out of pocket. When I first arrived at VW, I was brought into the office and told I was VIP. What a crock of...I do not, and have never felt like VIP. The thing is, I should have known better than when I first came in and the car that they had listed wasn't on their lot, but I stayed anyway. It only got worse from there. The salesperson who I dealt with, let's calle him David, said all the right things, but it was all xx. After I purchased the vehicle and driving off the lot, the car would not go into drive not once but multiple times and I was almost stranded at work at midnight on the night that I drove the car off the lot. The sales team was less than responsive (thank goodness for their service reps). It stayed in service for a week and while I was grateful for a loaner car, this was not the car I came in to purchase. David also let me know that since I wasn't able to negotiate the price of the vehicle that he would pay for my oil changes. And then, instead of actually following through on this, he does not respond and then gaslights me into thinking I am wrong for asking what I paid for. Save your time and your money and go somewhere that does not treat their customers like absolute garbage. I would like my key fab for my car and do not feel as if I should have to drive to the dealership to get it. I would also like my oil changes paid for as promised, but that does not look like its going to happen either. I have never met people with less integrity than the salespeople of Volkswagen. Go elsewhere. Go anywhere else More
