Gb, we truly appreciate your honest feedback. Replacement keys are a major expense for anybody. Modern day keys are sophisticated and perform many more functions than they have in the past utilizing computer chips like never before. Some key fobs open windows and sunroofs as well as remotely starting a vehicle. Almost all new keys are laser cut for security purposes and possess anti theft properties. The modern day key machines cost about 30% of the price of the least expensive new Volvo. And then the key has to be programmed to the vehicle. All of this contributes to the higher prices of keys.
