I took my car to the dealer to do the 60,000 mile maintenance because it was more involved than just an oil change and tire rotation. I normally go somewhere more local. I filled out an online form with my name, contact info, make/model/plate # and what I wanted done to my vehicle and made an appointment. I drove an hour to the dealership and was told it would take about an hour and a half, so I dropped my car off and went to get food while they said they would contact me when it’s ready. After waiting longer than they said and not hearing anything, I went back to the dealership to find they had papers printed out for my car with someone else’s name on it. Looks like they ran my plate in the system and got the old owner and reached out to him when it was ready. They should have looked at my appointment online form that I confirmed they saw when I dropped the car off. After they corrected the papers, I paid and went to the car to find all the alerts were still on. I asked the manager and she said that they must have forgot to turn them off. I asked if they did all the things I asked for on the form and she said yes and reset my car alerts. I go home (an hour away) and look at the paper they gave me to see that they barely did any of the stuff I wanted and none of those extra alerts were actually done. I ended up doing the engine air/cabin filters myself the next weekend and still need the transmission fluid change. If I knew they weren’t going to look at my appointment form and try to contact the old owner, I wouldn’t have even went. Could have went to a local place for the oil change which is all they did.
