I contacted Westside Hyundai from out of town after finding a vehicle they had in the exact color combination I was looking for. Before placing a $1,000 deposit to hold the car, I explicitly confirmed twice with the sales agent—during a recorded phone conversation—that the deposit was fully refundable. Only after receiving that confirmation did I proceed with the deposit. The very next morning, due to unexpected financial difficulties, I called to cancel the purchase and request a refund. The sales manager, Michael Lesnick, immediately refused, stating that the deposit was non-refundable. I explained that I had been clearly assured otherwise by the sales agent. Mr. Lesnick said he would review the recorded call and get back to me. About an hour later, he called back claiming he had reviewed the audio and that the sales agent stated the deposit was only refundable if there was something wrong with the car. This was a blatant fabrication. He clearly did not review the recording and instead invented an explanation to justify withholding the money. I then requested to speak with the General Manager. After a long and tense exchange, GM Colby Peterson reviewed the recording himself and confirmed that the deposit was indeed refundable. However, he claimed it was “store policy” that refunds are only issued on Wednesdays or Thursdays—six days later. While this sounded suspicious, I agreed to wait. On Wednesday morning, I sent a polite reminder and received no response. On Thursday, I called and asked for Mr. Peterson, who was unavailable. I left a message requesting a callback, which I never received. Late that evening, I received a text stating that the refund had been processed and that a receipt had been emailed to me. I checked all inbox folders and received nothing. I requested a copy of the refund receipt and again received no response. A legitimate refund would immediately appear as a pending transaction on my credit card, which it has not. This strongly suggests that once again I was misled. Do not give these thieves masquerading as a car dealership your business. They have shown a willingness to lie, deflect, and use sleazy tactics to keep customer money. I tried to resolve this professionally and patiently, but they have left me no choice but to file a credit card dispute. I will also be reporting this experience across social media and to appropriate government agencies so others are aware and can avoid this dealership. More

I recently purchased a used Mercedes from Westside Hyundai in Florida, and my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. After paying $2,000 on December 14th, I wasn’t approved to pick up the car until Monday, December 30th. I had arranged for a transport company to pick up the vehicle on Friday, January 3rd, but was told by the dealership that the car wasn't ready. The Sales Manager explained that it was still in service, working on the sunroof, and would be ready the next day — not taking into account that these transport companies have specific timeframes for pickup and delivery. The next day, the driver arrived only to be kept waiting for over 3 hours before the car was finally released. The vehicle was delivered late Sunday night, and when I inspected it, it was immediately clear that the condition of the car was far from what I had expected. The vehicle was riddled with multiple scratches, the radiator was badly damaged, the sunroof was nonfunctional, and key parts like the gas door and tow cap were missing. None of these issues were disclosed to me at any point during the sale. The next morning, I began examining the car more closely. The sunroof was broken — if it’s hot outside, the interior gets unbearably hot because the sunroof won’t close. The radiator was severely dented, the music system doesn't work at all, and overall, the car was in terrible condition. This vehicle should never have been sold in such a state. Since then, I’ve been trying to reach the Salesman, Sales Manager, and GM to address these serious issues, but after multiple calls every single day, no one has responded or taken any action. This is especially troubling considering I bought the vehicle to use for transporting my one-year-old baby. I would strongly urge anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership to stay far away. Their lack of communication, dishonesty about the car’s condition, and failure to address serious issues after the sale is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and avoid Westside Hyundai at all costs. I recently brought my vehicle to the service department at Westside Hyundai of Jacksonville, and my experience left me deeply dissatisfied. While I understand that dealership services can come at a premium, the pricing here was shockingly excessive—nearly 300% higher than what I ultimately paid at an independent shop. Specifically, I was quoted $9,500 to address a full list of repairs, even though I had only asked for a specific issue to be fixed. Worse, the quote included inaccurate recommendations, such as replacing both license plate light bulbs and brake bulbs when only one of each was faulty. For context, I purchased all four bulbs for $9 on Amazon, while the dealership quoted me $237 per bulb—a total of $474 for what should have been a minor fix. When it came to the actual issue I brought the car in for, the dealership quoted $2,500 for the repair. However, after taking my car to a trusted independent shop for a second opinion, the issue was fixed for just $480, and the car has been running great for over a week now. Additionally, the staff showed a noticeable lack of empathy and people skills throughout the process. It felt as though their focus was more on upselling unnecessary repairs than genuinely addressing the customer’s needs. To summarize, this service department overcharges significantly, provides questionable estimates, and lacks the customer-focused approach one should expect. Worst ever had appointment for recall on trunk latch sat there for 15 minutes told me they didn’t have the part.
