5000/6 month service visit I completed my first service call (5000/6 months) with Lexus and, while service was OK, it was not what I expected for Lexus. Here is my scenario: I I completed my first service call (5000/6 months) with Lexus and, while service was OK, it was not what I expected for Lexus. Here is my scenario: I scheduled my service online and got an email confirming my appointment. On the appointment day, I put the address on the email into my GPS and when I arrived,I met the security guard who told me I was at the wrong address. I went where he directed me to go and when I pulled in, the person asked me if I had an appointment and with whom. I looked it up in my email and his response was, "Cool. Leave the keys in the car and go through the second door on the left. His office is the first on the right." I followed the directions and sat down with Matt who walked me through what the 5000 mile visit included; when I said I was planning on waiting for it, he says that was fine because it would only take 45-1 hour. I asked where to go and he said, "Out to the left." Within a half an hour I heard my name so went to the counter and signed the form, was handed my keys and told my car was out front. I walked out and could not find my car so I asked someone walking across the lot ; she took my key, pushed the button and pointed at my car. I walked over to find my car had been washed and vacuumed but all of the things that were on the floor were heaped onto the back seat and my backseat was halfway down. Whoever vacuumed also hit the map light and mirror switch so the light was on and the mirrors didn't turn. Overall, I got service but was expecting more from Lexus. I traded in a BMW and here is my first experience I had with them: I drove up and someone ran out to open my door. They asked if I had an appointment and when I said yes, they checked the clipboard, told me whom my appointment was with and directed me to the lounge. They showed me where the coffee and refreshments were and Within five minutes my service person came, introduced himself and took me to his office to review what was going to be done. After this, I went back to the waiting area. When my car was completed, my service person came back to get me, took me to the counter and then walked me to the door. The outside attendant had my car and key and opened my door for me to get in. Again, I got my car serviced just like I did at Lexus. I'm not saying this to complain, but I was a corporate trainer in customer service for 14 years and, both of the above services cost the same but gave the customer a very different feel. I just wanted to pass this along. More
