It paying attention to detail My name is Ricardo and I came in for an oil change on the 19th of November of this year. In my opinion my car was finished in record time. After my car was finished I drove down the rode to O'Reilly auto part store to buy some filters for my Subaru. When I got there i smelled a horrible burning smell. I opened my engine hood and a big puff of smoke came out. I didn't see any spilled oil on my engine. I got back in my car and drove back to white bear Subaru. I drove right in the express lane and told the first guy I saw that I just had my oil changed and it has a burning smell of oil. I lifted the hood for him and again a big puff of smoke came out. He said he would get a manager for me. A manager came out (I don't remember his name) and I told him what happened. He said the mechanics probably spilled some oil on the engine. He'll take it back and have them clean it up. Now I've had old VW's in my life and oil on the engine was a common occurrence. Its never burned or smelled like that before. I have no proof of this because I didn't look under my Subaru but I feel they either forgot to put on an oil filter or they didn't tighten it enough. It was an extremely strong smell and lots of smoke. I will not be coming to White Bear Subaru. Not because they possibly spilled oil on my engine but for the lack of paying attention to detail. What if it was something like repairing or replacing my brakes ? I have my family to think of. I understand we all make mistakes but if you could remind your mechanics they have people's life in their hands and paying attention to detail is crucial. It was as simple as just wiping oil off my engine. A refund would be great. I sent this exact email to Donovan Brummond a couple of days after my service. He never responded. More
