Perfect car. Perfect sale. I had been hunting for a 2019 White Crystal Pearl WRX STI Limited for a little over a month. I had talked to a lot of dealerships and I knew the price I had been hunting for a 2019 White Crystal Pearl WRX STI Limited for a little over a month. I had talked to a lot of dealerships and I knew the price I was looking to pay. On Friday night around 7:40PM (they close at 9:00), I gave Wilde Subaru a call to talk about the White STI Limited they had on their lot. I spoke with Nick for a while and told him the price I wanted. He said he would check with his manager and get back to me by 8:00. He called back right at 8:00 and gave me an even better price than I had expected. There were a lot of moving parts of the deal, including my trade in that hadn't been seen as well as the fact that Wilde was more than 460 miles away. I told him "If the number is different when I get there, I will walk away." He said, "Don't worry, it will be the same number. I promise!" I put down $1,000.00 deposit to hold the car and went to sleep. I woke up at around 1:45AM and was on the road by 2:10 to ensure that I'd arrive early. I made better time than expected so I ended up arriving at the dealership a shade before 8:00 (sales team officially starts at 9:00). I puttered around the lot for a bit, but finally went inside to look around. Immediately when I entered, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist. Shortly after, Franco (a friendly Sales Manager) came out of his office to introduce himself and ask how he could help me. I explained to him my situation and he said he had heard about it and that he could help. I am sure that he had other things going on, but I appreciate that he took care of me and made me a priority. He went and pulled the car up to the closer parking so that it could warm up and be inspected. After he moved the car, he introduced me to Dave Lehman, who would help finalize the sale while we were waiting for Nick. (We later learned that Nick had been injured while slipping on some ice on his way to work. He was thankfully okay, but we were almost done with the sale before he made it in. His absence from the majority of this review is not a reflection on him as an employee). At this time, I also met Courtney Hutsen, who was helpful, energetic, and friendly. He helped verify some information on the car that I was going to trade in toward the STI and he also verified that the number Nick promised me last night would be the same number today (barring some huge, unforeseen issue with the trade-in, which I understood). I also filled out a credit application. Dave was warm, knowledgeable, and just a great conversationalist. He walked through details upon details without missing a beat and whenever I had a question or even as much as had a quizzical look, he would make sure that we were on the same page before continuing. As I was working with Dave, I was introduced to Josh Strickling, who needed to confirm a few things on my credit application. After a few more steps with Dave, I went to Josh's office to walk through all of the fun financial paperwork. My time with Josh was enjoyable. He was friendly, honest, and straightforward. He walked me through every single piece of paperwork. When I declined the majority of the optional add-ons such as extended factory warranty, he did not push me to change my answer, which I greatly appreciated. My experience him with him was easily one of the most painless financial phases of buying a new car that I had ever experienced. Since I was an out-of-state purchaser, there were a few issues that he had to run by his managers for approval before we could proceed. His visits to the managers were brief, so it did not detract from the experience. The highlight of this was that the number I was told the night before did indeed end up being the number that I signed. After finishing up with Josh, I went back to the main sales floor area to finalize everything with Dave. At this point, the place was absolutely packed and Dave was helping another customer very quickly. As I was waiting for Dave, Franco came back over to check that everything was meeting my expectations. I thanked him and assured him that it had been a great experience so far. Shortly thereafter, Dave came and got me and we went over the last few stages before moving to the actual car. Once outside, Dave walked me through every facet of the vehicle. Even though I know he doesn't drive an STI, it certainly seemed like he had one in his garage. He had an intimate knowledge of all of the features of the vehicle and gladly illustrated anything I wanted to see. Since I was trading in a 2016 WRX (which shares a lot of similar interior components as a 2019 STI), we did not have to spend a ton of time with this step. Finally, we put my trade in next to the new car and began transferring all of my personal effects into the new car. Dave helped with this step (which probably took me far longer than the average customer) and even ran inside at one point to bring me some free Subaru goodies (thermos, keychain, and multipurpose tool). Dylan, whom I had met earlier while waiting in the salesroom, came back outside to wish me well. We chatted for a bit as I transferred the last few items. Dave and Dylan helped me do one final check of the trade in. I shook hands with both of them and Dave drove the trade in away. I thanked Dylan again, got in my new car, and drove away. My experience at Wilde Subaru was excellent. Everyone that I met was friendly and made sure that my expectations were being met. Questions that I asked were answered not evaded. The price was where I wanted it to be. The whole process was smooth and painless. It was a wild 24 hours which saw me driving over 940 miles, but I am now the proud owner of a brand new 2019 White Crystal Pearl WRX STI Limited and I could not be happier! Thanks to Wilde Subaru for a great experience!!!!!!! More
