I sold my car back in August 2020 and I waited until Honda Finance sent me the letter that the loan was successfully paid out. I then immediately called the dealer to reimburse my prorated Extended warranties, and that’s when I met the most disrespectful Finance “Manager” you will ever encounter...Stephen Petrocelli. Stephen, not only lied to me saying that I didn’t purchase the VSC extended warranty, when I had all the official dealership documents proving him wrong, but he has singlehandedly delayed the whole process...while ignoring calls/emails or just providing misleading next steps. *I have 100% of the email communications, to validate this illegal scheme*
Winter Haven honda, after I had to share the documents (originals from when the actual sales transaction occurred), then they recognized that I was right and told me that after sending them a few documents they should get everything processed. So I did, I immediately sent over all the required documents and called back to confirm receipt and see of everything was in order. To my surprise, a month later Stephen sent me an email saying that he had forgot that I needed to sign one more paper...which I printed, signed and sent immediately to avoid another wasted month. After this I did receive the Wheels & Tires prorated refund (Sep 2020), but not the VSC (The extremely expensive Extended warranty for 7 years)
Fast forward to today, almost 6 months after I continue to get ignored and disrespected on what I believe is my right. I have done everything legally and as instructed and Winter Haven Honda has kept, illegally” a warranty running on a car that was sold back on August 2020...all this illegal scheme is to avoid paying the customer money and in turn avoiding impacting their finance results.
*I was indeed confirmed by the dealer on mid December that the issue was within the dealership as apparently Stephen provided the documents 3 months late to the Accounting department. They did confirm that I should expect a prorated refund as of August 2020 on my VSC warranty in the next two weeks time I would receive the check from Honda...it has been a month after that, and they continue to ignore my emails.*
While I will continue finding LEGAL ways to get my money back, I strongly suggest everyone to stay away from this dealership. Believe me it is not fun at all, and yes, I have even used their webpage email feature that sends a note to the dealer GM, whom either fully ignored my request or never got the note. Don’t fall for this trap, I do want others to not experience what I am going through.
