Anyway, the motor was shot so we decided we would need to get a new car. Since our car was all the way out in Ogden and we didn't want to pay to have it towed 40 miles away to Salt Lake, we decided to see what they had to offer as far as getting a new car and trading in our old one. We got to talking about trading it in over the phone with one of the sales reps and we were told our car would trade in for $2,500 and that we'd get the employee discount on any car we bought there since we had to go through such a rough time (we got stranded in the middle of nowhere at midnight with our kids when our car broke down). It seemed a fair estimate for trade in since the motor was shot, though we still would end up taking a loss on it, but we knew that was inevitable. The guy sounded nice so we let him know we'd come up when we could to do the trade in and purchase. We went up to the dealership the next Saturday to hopefully find a new car. We knew exactly what we wanted when we got up there and had done our research beforehand. We spent time haggling like normal and at some point during this process we were told that they ran our credit through their bulk credit processing software and everywhere denied us except, as he said, "I think it was Capital One or something". When we asked him to find out for sure he never would come out and tell us who the finance company was. He also wouldn't tell us our interest rate until we agreed on a price for the car. It was at that point I realize now that we should have just said 'never mind' and taken our business elsewhere. At the time though we though 'well, he's been pretty nice so far and we do have to finance some negative equity into this new loan so maybe that's why the rate is higher than what we've always gotten before'. Looking back I realize he was full of crap. We have great credit, so I was pretty upset about being told I was "denied" by 91 credit agencies. Over this roughly 7 hour visit to the dealership we had a few hiccups. When my boyfriend was going over the financial stuff with the salesperson and was expressing that he was not comfortable with the numbers (he used to work for a credit union doing auto loans) the salesperson just abruptly turned away from him while he was talking still, looked at me and said "well it's your loan so you get to make the final decision about this." like what my boyfriend was saying didn't even matter. It was beyond disrespectful. He also told us we couldn't be approved for a used car because of our credit and the fact that we had to trade in a car with negative equity (which we knew even at the time was just plain not correct). He obviously just wanted a big commission on a 'brand new' car. During the haggling we asked him to go talk to his financial team about interest rates, etc. and he would go back and forth as if he were going to talk to someone and coming back to us with the information. When we were ready to go sign on the papers we found out that HE was the one doing all the financial stuff too. He took us to the financial guy's office and nobody was in there and he just took a seat int he office and started getting the paperwork printed. during the haggling he was also rude when we asked him to check on something regarding the GAP coverage. He had said "well if you'd let me leave I'd go do that" like we were holding him back from doing his job or something... We FINALLY got to the part where we signed the papers (after like 4 hours, mind you). Issue 1: the trade in amount was listed as $2,000 instead of the quoted $2,500. He said there was no way he told us $2,500, which was just total BS because we took very detailed notes from our initial contact with him. Issue 2: We told the salesperson very explicitly that we could bring our down payment after we took it out of our term deposit so it would take 7 - 10 days to get it out. We asked if it was okay that we took the car still that day - and we would have been totally fine having to wait to get a new car if it wasn't okay and we expressed that - and he said that yes it was fine to do that, but that we'd just need to write a personal check that they would hold until we traded it out for the cashier's check when we got our term deposit money out. We signed papers and everything seemed fine. We realized about three minutes after we drove off in our new car that we had left 5 CDs in our old car's multi-disc CD player. We immediately texted the salesperson and asked if he could get them out for us and he said he would and we could pick them up when we came to exchange the checks. Fast forward to five days later when I see my bank account has an insufficient funds fee because they tried to cash a check for thousands of dollars that they promised us they would hold for 30 days. We called the dealership and spoke to a manager. We explained the situation and were told that the salesperson was just training in the financial side of things and that he was mistaken so they couldn't hold the check for 30 days because of how much money it was for. We were able to work out a plan to get the money to them within about 15 days. This plan included us having to drive back to Ogden (about 45 minutes away by freeway with no traffic, mind you - 80 miles there and back) to give them ANOTHER personal check to hold as collateral since they screwed up the first one. We also would have to sign new papers saying that if we didn't bring the money within that time we'd be responsible for it, blah blah. They did however pay me back for the fee charged by my bank, which I again have to give them credit for (really the only person I have a problem with there is the salesperson we worked with). We told them we'd come up the next Saturday again, which was two days away. Later on the SAME DAY we got it all worked out with the manager the salesperson called my boyfriend and had the gall to be upset with us for being "dishonest" about the money situation and just all around was AWFUL. He asked why we said 5 - 7 days when we couldn't get the money to them that soon (which we never said 5 - 7 days at all and were very clear that it would take that long to get the money out, not that that was how long it would take to get it to them - which shouldn't matter anyway since he promised us 30 days). We just took the high road and didn't even argue about it. We just informed him we had already worked it out with the manager so he didn't need to worry about it. When we drove up there we were hoping to work with the manager directly, but the same salesperson we worked with before came out to get our new check and go through the new paperwork with us. We just wanted to get out of there so we tried to just get it over with as fast as we could. During his explanation of the new paperwork he made a snide comment about how it was mine and my boyfriend's error that caused all this to happen and that just pissed us off worse. He couldn't just leave it alone and be professional about it. During the argument that ensued (because we can only take so much crap) he said to my boyfriend "boy, you just really like to go at it, don't you?" and various other rude comments as if he hadn't been the one to create the problem in the first place! Anyway, after everyone calmed down from that incident we asked for our CDs from him. Those CDs that he said he'd get 3 minutes after we left that first day... He said he didn't have them, then he went to look in the service center but said they were not there and they might still be in the car (which he should have just gotten them out when we messaged him to get them for us). The electrical system of the car was disconnected so we couldn't check the CD player that do. Because of that we asked him to look for them in there when he could and we'd come get them when we brought our cashier's check for the down payment. He said he would (again...). Fast forward again to a week or so later when I contacted my old credit union (that all of my previous car loans have been through - with rock bottom interest rates I might add) to see if the balance on my old car loan had been paid off by the new finance company yet (since we had to finance in negative equity). They said it hadn't been yet but that they would love to see if they could beat the interest rate of the other company for my new car loan. I asked if they had any history of my credit being run by them for this new loan and they said they didn't. Very odd that there wasn't any loan application there since the salesperson told me they sent the loan through 92 credit agencies and that my previous credit union was one of the 92... I told the credit union guy that once the financing issues were all ironed out I would contact him to get a quote from them. We got multiple phone calls from the same sales guy again between then and when we got the cashier's check to them. All of them things like "Should we just cash this check?" and "This is taking longer than the time frame you gave us" which was so rude not only because of horrible customer service but also because we had already worked out a plan with the manager and were well within the time she gave us to get the money to them. We had to keep telling him not to cash the check and that we still had time, blah blah. So we finally get the cashier's check to them, get our "hold" check back from them, and ask for our CDs. Again. AGAIN he didn't have them. He brought all the CDs the service people had found in cars, none of them were ours. He offered to let us take all of the CDs they had found even though we upfront said they weren't ours (we didn't take them, of course). We left after that, just accepting that the five CDs (two of them special gifts from family from 11 YEARS ago...) were lost forever. We were looking forward to never having to talk to them again. Around the time all this was happening I got a letter from "Subaru Motors Finance Company" notifying me of how happy they were that I chose to finance my new car with them. It was a surprise to me since that's quite a different name from "Capital One" which, as you may recall, was the place the salesperson told me financed me in the first place... It seems like the salesperson (who was also the finance person) would know when their own financing company is doing the loan for a car, don't you think?! He was so obviously full of crap from the first second we stepped on that car lot. I just wish I had seen it sooner! Because of this and the information from my credit union that an application hadn't been placed with them, I pulled my credit report to see what institutions HAD actually pulled my credit on that day we got our car. Lo and behold I see that the ONLY place he ran my credit was Subaru Motors Finance!! He lied to my face about running it through 92 credit agencies and about how my credit was so poor that 91 places denied me. I guess his tactic was to make me feel so horrible about myself that I would just accept the rates offered me. Or maybe it was his goal to be the worst person I've ever met in my life, I don't know. He was so rude and very obviously doesn't care about the customers AT ALL. All in all we had to drive there FIVE times (400 miles total) for something that should have taken a the very most two trips. I got my previous credit union to do the loan application and they got me the lowest rate they offer, which was much better than the 8.69% one the salesperson told me was the best I'd get approved for because of my "poor credit". I refinanced within less than one month. Overall I had to take a loss of the GAP coverage I purchased on the original loan through the dealer ($499), lost out on $500 of my trade in value that I was promised, and paid un-needed interest on a loan (about $100) I shouldn't have been lied to about in the first place. And on top of that I had to pay roughly $50 in extra gas costs. That totals a loss of around $1,200 just for choosing to get my car from Young Subaru. It is to this day the worst experience I have ever had in my life. More

Then a year later I decided to purchase one in January 2015 bought the car and had problems with the car and the employees treating me as if I had not just spent 30000 for a brand new Subaru as well as they treated me with no respect and flat out rude. It's ben a month and they now are fixing my car that was chipped and the break boot has two rips in it . Plus there was a stain when they first came off the truck when I went to pick it up. The service department took two weeks until I had to call them to see where my part was. Another week later I had an finally getting the part done. The only great experience i had was both finance employees which were Paul and the other finance employee. More

My initial thought was: Young Subaru Rocks! (Updated) This review is a full review of pre & post sale experience, the original review is below. Long read but well worth it! It's sad to see how my confi This review is a full review of pre & post sale experience, the original review is below. Long read but well worth it! It's sad to see how my confidence has dropped since a few months ago, when I raved about my initial experience. I guess I spoke too soon. I bought 2 cars, within a week of each other. Both were used, totaling around $50k. The cars were: 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and 2010 GMC Acadia. The car buying experience was exceptional with the Jeep, and a little tougher with the Acadia. I went with in house financing, even though I was pre-approved with my bank. I say this because I know that in house is beneficial to the dealership. Paul was impeccable with rapport and financing on the Jeep. Now here is where it started going down hill: I was told by my sales guy, that my pre-existing Rock chips (in the jeep) were filled. I felt them and let him know that I didn't think that they were. He said that he would get it scheduled to be filled and that we could probably just do it when they did the "Resistall" treatment. The Resistall treatment wasn't scheduled for a few weeks until after I made the purchase. Then, I got the flu, postponing the Resistall/Rock chip repair a few more days. The day before I was to go in for the scheduled treatment and rock chip repair, the window cracked. A little at first, then across the whole thing. (These chips should have been filled pre-sale) The crack wasn't the whole problem. The bigger problem is that I actually had to haggle to get the window fixed, which came down to $50 after back and forth. (The same cost as TecnaGlass with my insurance. Minus the warranty that TechnaGlass gives.) this was frustrating because they would rather take $50 more from me than help me out after I had spent so much money. (In house financing and margins on $50k in used cars has got to be a decent kick back. A new window is $200) I decided to just live with the crack, on principle that I won't give another dime to Young Subaru. Now for the next part: Scheduled maintenance time. Young's 2 year maintenance is actually, 3 oil changes. Or $60 if you paid for it. My wife and I took our vehicles: the Acadia and Jeep down for our scheduled maintenance. Mine went off without a hitch. My wife's was the problem this time. Her power steering was having issues, so we had them look at it, which they recommend a flush:$80 cost at Young Subaru. $50 at Arnold's on 14th and Wall. They also said that our AC was leaking (how they knew that from a routine maintenance, is yet to be found) and it would be over $300 to fix. Arnold's on 14th and Wall checked it and found that there was no leak (no cost for checking). And finally my "straw" that brought this review to Facebook, and possibly the rest of the review boards. My check engine light came on today, in the Jeep. I scheduled a check for it at 12:00 noon. I ran late, brought it in around 12:15. I waited for about an hour in the service bay, just to find that I "needed to go to the Jeep dealer" in Morgan Utah approx 20-30 mins away to have it checked/fixed. Even though I bought the extended warranty, I couldn't use it because they needed to bill the manufacturer warranty first. So I had to go to a Jeep dealer. Then, if that doesn't beat all, with 26K miles, my warranty is now up, and my instrument panel went out. So the extended will cover it for $100. Its one thing after another here! So moral of the story:free soda, great deals, and kiss up during the sale, don't do anything for the life after the sale. It seems like money is the only thing that talks at Young Subaru. But even that only goes so far. The lengths taken to get the sale should be the same lengths taken to keep a customer. With the built in charges for Doc Fees, Resistall, extended warranty, and margins on used cars, you'd think that money wouldn't be the only thing motivating this dealership. But...that money will move on to the next place when we decide to trade up in the next 5 years. Don't worry, I'll still be sure to go in for my "free 2 years" maintenance while it lasts. As far as dealership work under warranty, I'll go to Larry H. Miller, it's closer than Morgan. For the Acadia, we'll keep going to Arnold's on 14th and Wall, where we feel that we get a fair deal. (Original Review Below) I just bought a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport Unlimited So, let me brag for a minute! Tyson, the general manager tasked his team to make my buying experience exceptional. Being a sales director with several years in the sales industry, I can be over critical, but they did it, they wowed me. Here is how: When the deal started, there was the typical back and forth on the payments and price, but it was never a hard sale experience. My assigned sales guy Nathan was polite and built rapport. One of the managers, Brandon was very polite while appraising my truck, on the appraisal drive. The other manager (don't remember his name but he had braces) was polite and courteous as well. Once I knew what I wanted for sure, we moved on to financing with Paul: Paul, Oh man Paul, (the finance guy) he really made me feel like he was working for my best interest. This guy has to be one of the most genuine finance guys ever. Either he is the best sales guy that I have ever met, or he really cares. I'd be willing to bet that he cares, because he never tried to push me, or get me to go with anything along the way that I wasn't comfortable with. When first coming to Young Subaru, I had reservations because of a couple of other bad sales experiences with other car companies in this area; but these guys got me where I wanted to be on price, offered me a great warranty at a great price, detailed my car, and even let me take the car home over night to consider the idea of the purchase. Now I know sales guys, and car sales, and some of the things that these guys did for me were part of the "sales process" but I never felt sold to! It was consultative, and informative the entire time. I liked all of the guys involved, and would exclusively refer my friends and family to Young Subaru in the future. I will never go anywhere else for service or sales of my vehicles. Sincerely A New Jeep Owner! More

After browsing for a few minutes, Lee Jordan came right out to offer assistance. I told him what I was looking for and he rounded up the Forester's that best met my request. After comparing the vehicles and all of the options, it came down to the color of the car. He actually moved one of the vehicles off the showrom floor so that we could line them up and I could compare the colors! Yes, he was kind and patient enough to do this. I didn't feel pressured at all - I felt like a friend was helping me pick out a vehicle. He reviewed the operation of the vehicles sytems with my daughter and me and helped us set-up some of the blue-tooth operations. He made sure the car was washed and had a full tank of gas before we were on our way. He told me to call if I have any questions and I will feel totally comfortable calling him. I highly recommend Lee Jordan. More
