We are customers of the Chevy store in Schaumburg. So when it was time to possibly purchase an EV we looked for your other stores and found a vehicle at your Honda store in Racine. I built the deal on So when it was time to possibly purchase an EV we looked for your other stores and found a vehicle at your Honda store in Racine. I built the deal online. And very quickly An Internet salesperson called me to set up an appointment for the next day for me to roadtest. I told him that I lived over 60 miles away and I asked him to please verify that the vehicle was still there. He assured me that the vehicle was not sold. There were no deposits down on the vehicle and the vehicle was in fact there. 12 hours later the manager called me to verify I was still coming to my appointment and I responded that we will be leaving The Schaumburg area heading for Racine after we board our dogs and Make arrangements to be on the road for the day. Headed to Wisconsin.. when we entered the Racine store we were greeted promptly. And within about 20 minutes we were told that sorry the vehicle that you came for is in fact not here and we sold it 2 weeks ago. We were shocked. Of course because was verified before we made all these arrangements that the vehicle was there. Now mind you only about 14 hours have passed since my initial inquiry online. The salesperson had pulled up the next trim level up a vastly more expensive vehicle. And then attempted to get us to purchase this vehicle instead. At this point we have now been in the dealer a little over an hour while they were appraising our vehicle.. as time passed by we couldn't find our car or our salesperson now. We have been here approximately 2 hours. I then asked for someone to find my keys so we can leave as there was no intention to honor The deal that I had made online and it was a classic bait and switch. I am appalled that this type of deceptive practice is still happening at car dealerships! More
